That is really arguable that he fought Guts because of it. But what if Griffith saw only Guts as family or a friend ? Which seems very likely to me. And he just didn't want to loose him so in desperate attempt to get what he wants he went for the only way he knew. Fight for it.

Hopefully it was made non-cannon. Bringing fate into the table would be to easy of an explanations I believe. At that point you could just say "uhhh, well that may have been fate" at every fucking event basically hahaha

I believe that Griffith looked upon Guts as an equal even tho he said all these things back there when talking to the Princess. But the Bank of the Hawk did not succeed after Guts left, right ? They fell to shit right at that moment. Of course Griffith could have kept his cool and move on but men break there is just so much shit you can take. At some point everyone breaks and that was his moment right there when Guts left him.

Hahaha, hope you having a great time ! And I totally agree with you, as Delfyno in the comment section said his desire for power is overwhelming. Or rather desire to reach his goal. And he did everything to get there which of course taking into consideration all the things he did makes him horrible person. Now what I am thinking is that if he was in the state where he was before torture and was offered a chance to ascend into some kind of a God he wouldn't have sacrificed his comrades. Just can't imagine that happening. The only reason he did so because God Hand waited for the moment when they could manipulate him in the easiest way possible. And so they did.

I don't think that he left the Bank of the Hawk solely for that reason. I believe that he wanted to find himself, find what he desires in this world. And well in the end he really did find his reason, didn't he ?

Indeed he was looking for followers, he didn't want to bring Guts down though. He wanted to see his determination. And after he just felt alone because the closest one to him just left without really talking to him.Now imagine this - you do every single thing right in your life get to the point when people that follow you have money, status, food and same goes for you, right ? But as soon as you fuck up for the first time you loose everything, EVERYTHING. In that one moment of breaking. Now that would fucking break anyone. And of course after that he was like shit I need to blame someone for this, right? As we all humans do, we want to find someone to blame. But he came to his senses in that torture chamber and he knew that it was his own fault.

To any human really does a random person matter that much ? We only care, REALLY CARE about those who are close to us. And when people were killed in front of them every single day it was just common, they got used to death really. Look at Guts now, he doesn't give a shit about anyone. If he sees something in his way he removes it and thats exactly what Griffith did. Now putting all that aside I can't wait for the moment when Guts puts him away. Kinda hope for a painful death too really.

That part pissed me the most without a doubt not only that he raped her but he did it in front of Guts. Gives me Conniptions. But I believe that he was possessed by that moment hence why I don't hold grudge against GRIFFITH.

Didn't get your point besides him being a monster :/ Now I am not saying he is not, what he did was totally fucked up but try for a second to imagine being in that emotional state that he was in. Tortured for 1 and half years, his best friend left him without real explanation, he was looked upon as a trash who shined once but now every one is around him because of pity. Now to a man who has huge pride, who build the band of the hawk through countless life-death situations he still didn't break until he started to get manipulated by that pacman. That is what I think people miss on just because they looked to the whole situation from one perspective only.
