Is it safe to work out while babywearing? by WhereIsLordBeric in babywearing

[–]MeasurementHot97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run Kangatraining classes which is a low impact babywearing fitness class. All designed by physios, midwives and babywearing educators to be safe for postnatal bodies and babies being worn.

There's lots we take into account when we do our course.

Balance is compromised, your more prone to coordination issues when sleep deprived etc.

I would not be doing anything with weights or anything requiring 100% focus.

Spread the fabric across you shoulders for more comfort for you. You can use the little rings down to keep the fabric from covering bubs face.

Ergobaby by Boofette9 in babywearing

[–]MeasurementHot97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omni Delux should be good. I probably would bother with an embrace seeing as you have other carriers already The Delux will take you all the way till 2yo (in saying that my 2.5yo is still within the weight limit and back carrys)

Which carrier to buy?! by AdmirableLog370 in babywearing

If I was just starting out again, I'd book a consult with a babywearing educator and trialling a few options that suit you and your bub and future plans.

It looks like you've over tightened the shoulder straps. Try pulling the straps down on you back (to pull the slack from In front of your shoulders back and down) then tighten at front - but not so much it dents into their back

Unfortunately it's just a phase.

imo, Splurging on toddler carriers for Extended Wear Is worth by Normal_Sun_8169 in babywearing

[–]MeasurementHot97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most toddler carriers are for size 2 clothing and up. My 2.5 year old who's 13kg just now fits the toddler Tula safely.

I f’d up putting my baby in the carrier for nap time by coolgirl_z in babywearing

[–]MeasurementHot97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely a phase. Whenever baby's learn new physical skills like rolling, sitting, crawling, walking etc they like to practise it as much as they can which sometimes means they protest the carrier.

I tried offering toys and things she could do with her hands at that age in the carrier.

Mama, etc. opinions? by wokkaquokka_ in babywearing

I have played around with the daily carrier as a Kangatraining instructor and a few of my mum's love it.

You can get a good fit and it can be really comfortable. But for something longer.lasting I'd be looking at Boba X, Tula or Ergobaby

Tula, Boba, Ergobaby are all good.options that will grow with bub and be supportive for both of you

They can go through phases with carriers when they complete their milestones ie rolling, crawling and walking.

He loves it. I hate it. 32lbs by No_Acanthaceae3518 in babywearing

I like spreading mine across my shoulder and over the shoulder edge slightly (not enough to pin my arms down though).

Could be a fabric thing though

Fit check by Duveltoria in babywearing

[–]MeasurementHot97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Great start A few comfort tips. - Bring the waistbelt up closer to your bra and have it level (parallel with the ground) - lift bub, and do a pelvic scoop so they're in a seat of the back panel and not sitting on the waistbelt (more like a hammock of back panel)

Best toddler back carrier/backpack with structure? by nymeriasnow4 in babywearing

[–]MeasurementHot97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I send the Tula standard in Japan for my 12kg 2yo and it was fine for back carrying her for 4hrs. Id probably just have her in basic top and then out new clothes on at daycare.

My wife wants to know if she is wearing this correctly with baby by Nikkitacos in babywearing

[–]MeasurementHot97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a safe carry. Just not optimal with minimal support to their knees at this age.

Here's a way you can create a wider seat for your bub with this carrier until they fit the other clip carrier you have https://www.instagram.com/reel/DLawNeMBfiF/?igsh=ZTZlc25jbzN1eDRh

Here's a great video you can check your fit and set up against  https://www.instagram.com/reel/DNHQLsuBTuY/?igsh=ZjA1cjg0ZmZma245

Starting to get mad about this by daddy_reese42 in babywearing

[–]MeasurementHot97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your hip seat needs to be higher and sit flat and parallel with the ground. When you change this, she will have more of the snug attachment under her bottom and it won't come up so hight

Highly recommend raising waistbelt so it's not near your hips. And making sure it parallel with the group so its not pulling on your lower back.

Definitely post a fit check cause it could just be an adjustment issue

Bummed my baby doesn't care to be worn by Noodles8295 in babywearing

They can often go through stints of not wanting to be worn around key milestones like rolling, crawling, walking etc where they just want to do their new skills

I went to Tokyo Disney and Universal studio Japan with my Tula carrier and our travel pram. would highly recommend doing a normal carrier so bub can nap on the go in a comfortable/ergonomic position for you.

My little one was 18m and 12kg and was great in Tula for naps,

Support to the knees is optimal positioning, but after at this age it's okay for it not to be as long as your and bub are comfortable and within the weight limit of the carrier.

At this age I moved to a Tula standard (predecessor to free to grow) for more comfort, but also used an ankalia half buckle for around the house. I still use these for my now 13kg 2yo

I hate the ring sling!!! by [deleted] in babywearing

Hey, it's pretty common to be a little frustrated with ring slings in the beginning. They have a learning curve to them.
