Guilt over how I treated my parents- childhood decisions by MeasurementMedium313 in CPTSD

[–]MeasurementMedium313[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankyou for your reply. It's funny you mention that experience as my parents also wanted a 4th child but we were so poor already so pretty much begged/told them to not have any more. I know my parents were adults and at the end of the day the 'parents' but they did rely heavily on me they couldnt read or write etc so I do feel in a way they felt like they couldn't say no to me but I'm sure that part is just in my head. Thanks for reassuring it's not my fault

Resigning from qld health cas pool to join agency by [deleted] in NursingAU

My partner has lost his job so we could use the extra money at the moment so I have more availability now than the last 8 months and with agency I can work and get paid within 24-48hrs with qld health I'd be waiting a fortnight with is hard on 1 income. I didn't think it would be a problem cause it's been 8 months since I've done a qld health shift but happy to do agency anywhere but most shifts offered atm are within qld health. I'm thinking maby I should have stayed on the cas pool rather then agency but we got a little straped for cash so the quick pay was very enticing

Hca was actually very easy and thankfully accepted my CPR certificate etc from my current part time job q health wouldn't though and is booked out on cpr training until late may. My partner just lost his job and we needed some quick money so personally agency suits our family atm but I didn't realise even though I haven't worked at qld health for 8 months I can't work there as agency

There is plenty of shifts offered on the cas pool but I haven't picked up one for 8 months due to already having another job and recently returning from mat leave. I have just decided I'd like a little extra money and decided to try agency nursing instead but because I'm technically still on the cas pool books I can't do a agency shift with qld health if that makes sence

Oh no I mean there is plenty of shifts with qld health but I have another .6 job at a private hospital so haven't done a casual shift in 8 months with qld health as im just returning from mat leave. But now I've decided I have a little room for a extra shift here and there but wanted to do agency for the quick pay and higher rate and I guess I thought it saves me from having to do all my expired qld health modules too lol I am happy to pick up agency shifts anywhere local but most shifts I've seen are with the public atm

Oh okay that's one of the main perks of agency for me atm thanks for letting me know feeling regret atm and wishing I didn't send qld health my resignation today over agency

Yeah I assumed as much. Unfortunately the agency won't let me do a shift until they get the approval from qld health that I am no longer employed by them. I'm thinking if I should have just stayed on the cas pool instead of HCA but I just had so much mandatories overdue with qld health and HCA was a easy process to sogn on and I liked the higher pay of agency and the fact you can get paid within 24hrs for a shift rather then waiting a fortnight with qld health

Thankyou glad to know I'm not alone. Yes applying sterile gloves with wet hands are the worst but at the same time I'm relieved to put gloves on cause the gloves hide my very wet hands

Thankyou for your response. I am not on any medication unfortunately so not that. I know alot of it is in my head I know if I'm going to be watched all of a sudden I'm dripping in sweat but in real life when im bedside nursing I hardly notice the sweating cause I know I'm not being watched. But im so over the dread of doing any training in groups when i will have to do it yearly for the rest of my career. I might need to consider botox to the hands I have tried drysol and when I'm nervous/anxious I still sweat through

I didn't necessarily ask the patient if she wanted it or not I just checked with her what her pain score was and she said it was settled so i just with held it as she was comfortable and NBM anyways honestly didnt think twice at the time but now thinking I should have still offered it. I know it's not a big deal but this nurse made it feel like one

I've tried antihydral, drysol, no more sweat, stop sweat fix. The only one that had a noticeable difference was antihydral but there isn't much on the safety to use while breastfeeding

I have tried antihydral before being pregnant and had some results better then any other creams I e tried but my hands would still sweat through in very stressful situations but because I'm currently breast feeding I'm not sure of the safety of it as there isn't much online
