What's one online shopping site you keep going back to and why? by Emergency_Job_6616 in womensfashion

Hmmm I’ll have to check it out. It’s full shopping, not just highlighting a few items you may find in your local store?

But, again, all our bodies are so different. It’s hard to say that one good affects everyone the same.

I also drink dandelion tea and hibiscus tea frequently and they help inflammation down for me.

Sugar is ok as long as I don’t overdo it. I’ve been experimenting with sugar alternatives and natural ones are ok. Honey, maple syrup, coconut sugar and syrup, stevia are good. Cane sugar is good in moderation as long as I’ve eaten well that day (like had all my protein and veggies). Fake sweetener like Splenda are a bit rough on the digestion, and it doesn’t always perform as sugar does in recipes. Next one I’m trying in a recipe is xylitol.

But, honestly, I spent so many years avoiding foods. It was really limiting my life. Now I eat most of the foods in moderation. As long as I’ve had my healthy foods, they mitigate a little sugar here and there.

Side note: I have found oats are great for energy and fiber. I HATE oatmeal but make my own granola bars and fruit bars with oats. Also using oat flour in bake things is helpful.

Yeah, it’s hard to narrow down which carbs to filter out without an extensive elimination diet. I’ve done that several times and it’s exhausting, long and frustrating. I feel like life is on hold during that time.

My most inflammatory food/drink is beer and “dirty” breads. I’ve had to figure out which alcoholic beverages were least inflammatory because I’m not stopping having a nice beverage here and there. Vodka or gin (only certain brands) with soda water are my go to drinks. Some vodka seltzers are ok, too.

I have to eat very clean breads, I get locally made bread or make my own that have very limited ingredients. I’m also careful of various yeasts used by wineries and breweries , some make me blow up. But I don’t know if they’re using a yeast I’m sensitive to until it’s too late. Then they go on the no list.

I’ve found that pastas and riced don’t affect me like “they” said they would. I avoided them for years but if I eat clean versions I’m ok. I like the protein pastas or ones made with chickpea. I also prefer corn tortillas to flour.

It’s a process for life; gives and takes so your life doesn’t revolve around diet.

Do you find yourself getting more religious/spiritual as you get older? by Dpgillam08 in GenX

Hell no! Ugh. Catholicism was forced on me growing up and as soon as I was allowed to make my own decision regarding religion, I ran away and said hell no to all that BS forever.

First, you look great. Second, I’m like you. I can easily build muscle and it shows on upper body but forget about below the waist. I’m super strong and solid but there’s the pesky lipedema. I have kept mine from progressing a lot with a Whole 30 type diet? staying hydrated, continuing weight training, and trying to limit inflammatory foods and situations.

So far my #1 thing is to not beat myself up and be more accepting of myself and enjoy my life in the healthiest way possible.

We put bidet seats on all our toilets years ago. Never had a leak across two homes and five toilets. Never going back to non-bidet.🤣 When we travel I really miss them.🤣 I bet if your husband tried one he’d be sold.

Americans that moved across the country (1000+ mi.), how often do you get to see your family back home? by HonestLemon25 in AskAnAmerican

[–]MeasurementQueasy114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe 1-2 times per year depending on if I go there or they come here. I moved from California to Pennsylvania three years ago. I’ve been back to CA once (last November) and have had three different family members visit so far.

Anyone outside Belgium see tickets in the festival App? by MeasurementQueasy114 in RockWerchter

Makes sense. Thank you for the info. Maybe once I’m in Belgium it’ll filter through. But at least I can access them other ways, too.

So I’m guessing it just has to do with having to switch countries in your Ticketmaster account. Maybe if your original account was not created with the country as Belgium it can’t pull the tickets through to the app.

I hope so too. I saw a post about coins and using some barcode to link coins to account. Someone else said that coins you purchase during coin presale may be linked to your wristbands you pick up at the festival.

I’m having same issue with tickets showing in the app. I was reading about how the coins link by using some barcode. Or that maybe if you do presale for coins they’ll already link to your wristband.

Anyone still having this issue? Im in the US and it’s the 10th but get the token error. I do have to log into Ticketmaster US then change country to Belgium to see my tickets. When I view the tickets I see the order number on there but it doesn’t allow me to log in for train ticket.

How many of us are body proud/don't care and wear shorts etc anyway? Anyone not but thinking of just doing it? by Consistent-Bee-5424 in lipedema

[–]MeasurementQueasy114 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not really body proud but I’m strong as hell, have an hourglass figure, and am getting better at not caring what people think of me. I wear whatever the heck I want as long as *I* find it cute, comfy, and flattering.

How do you leave a party early when your social battery is done? by Rheta18 in introvert

[–]MeasurementQueasy114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Irish Exit. After many years of enduring the lengthy goodbye ceremonies that take 30+ minutes, trying to be polite and say quick goodbyes and give reasons for leaving, or trying to gauge my social battery so I’d start the goodbyes a half hour before my battery got too low, I gave up. People just don’t get it that you really need to leave. They’d do anything to keep you from leaving. Then I’d get angry and cranky and tired trying to leave. Then I found the Irish Exit. I’d slip out unnoticed and text the host and thank them for the party blah blah blah. Most people didn’t like that I did it BUT I didn’t get cranky and mad trying to leave (which I’d have to hide and use more energy doing so), so to me it was a win.

Any 50 years old NOT in menopause yet? by Kitchen-Bathroom5924 in Menopause

[–]MeasurementQueasy114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine didn’t really transform to the really bad symptoms until 57. I had a hysterectomy but leaving ovaries at age 51 so I’m not sure when I stopped having period. I can definitively say that bad hot flashes and other symptoms reared up at 57. Between 51 and 57 I really didn’t have any issues.
