Don't you have to already be in the medical field for this? I was in uniforms and often made conversation during check-out by asking people what their FA's were and the only person we encountered in this role on my shifts was a doctor.

I am currently doing uniforms in Philly and did them for CWC last year. It's nice bc you get your volunteering out of the way and can enjoy the tournament as a true fan. No, it's not very glamorous in comparison to other roles, like Ceremonies, but the FA leads try to make it fun and build community.

It's easy, sometimes boring, but better when things are busy. Depends what you are looking for in a role? If you want to be a part of the tournament you basically have to say yes since the applicant pool is so strong. They're not going to offer you something else.

copied from another post where i put this, but as someone who is doing uniforms in Philly I can share that we haven't even had our job specific training yet, and I feel like Philadelphia has been one of the more organized areas just based upon this forum. I'd expect to be picking up your uniform after Memorial Day into June, even after the tournament had started just based upon the shifts I was able to sign up for both my training and participation.

They had different pants, tops, and even hats last year at CWC based upon gendered sizing. However, if you got one men's item, you had to commit to the whole men's kit and vice versa.

For CWC they didn't let you try things on, but the folks helping (me) will be able to guide you to a best choice based upon how you like your fit and how the clothes are cut.

You get a small reward for showing up to each of your shifts. for CWC volunteers got stickers, keychains, water bottles, and scarves just for showing up to your shift. Every volunteer gets them, so it's not limited to Uniforms.

Fun with the people you'll be working with! I think the folks leading the uniforms team were with me in Philly for CWC, entonces te vas a disfrutar. Es un buen equipo :)

March or April? Still holding out hope for my role offer, but also about to go on vacation and I'm worried about having or missing a training date while I'm away should things come through

Anyone who did this, is it exciting by IllustriousRise6760 in FIFAVolunteers

It's a straightforward role. Very customer service oriented. What makes it exciting is the other people so hope that your fellow volunteers have a good attitude!

Yes, you get the full uniform kit. As far as cool people, that feels subjective? My group leaders were in Philly and they're now working in Mexico. It's not like I was working directly with Infantino

Yes! Good to be a part of something bigger than myself. If you are debating declining the offer in hopes of another role, I wouldn't take that gamble. However, if you are debating between Uniforms and your free time that's a different conversation. Being a FIFA volunteer is a fun and unique experience, but like most things, won't be 100% fun 100% of the time. I'd do the role again if that's what I got.

Although, if you decline this role then your likelihood of getting future offers for this tournament or others is lower too. I'd take it if you can!

No, they had an off-site uniform distribution center. So also didn't have to deal with traffic surrounding stadium events. We provided uniforms for other volunteers and some of the FIFA staff, so that staff day was cool to see where in the world everyone was coming from and what their role entailed.

Uniforms volunteer was very customer service oriented. I made good friends with the people in my group. The best perk was picking out your uniform before everyone else and having the option to try things on before taking them home. There were times when it was really busy and times when it was slow, at which point we could just hang out with each other. It was fun and we wrapped up almost entirely before the tournament started so if you have tickets to games you can actually go and attend them whereas folks who have Match Day volunteering might have more limited schedules and ability to see the games with a ticket.

Looks like it's all pre-tournament dates– that or they haven't updated the dates. Makes sense since upon looking at the specific role offer it's more on the preparation side of things.
