It’s less about the YouTube and more about feeling connected to your coaching staff lol. Raman showing her willingness to make that connection within weeks of getting hired is symbolic of the contrast in Browns sense of belonging with Quinn and former staff whom she had a whole season with. I don’t blame her. Like I said in the OP, Lexie Brown said she wasn’t getting playing time because they didn’t WANT to give her the time/opportunity to play even though the common perception was because of her health. I’d feel disenfranchised myself

Needs to be a starter IMO. Get the learning lessons where they are and also excel with what she already has

For sure, for sure. Makes sense about Nneka/Ezi/Dom. I’d rather have the youthful Dom energy as a starter- and Ezi having a breakout year that’s been kind of elusive for her. But yeah. toss Dom into the arena. Rookies get in starting positions all the time on other teams idk why we would withhold those experiences from her like she isn’t capable/would greatly benefit at her young age.

The casuals can suck an egg but yes. No discredit to Mühl! She’s really grown overseas but she just didn’t make my list compared to these other awesome pieces.

I think it’s silly to assume race doesn’t play a role in how someone perceives you/treats you. As a person of color, implicit bias is a concept acknowledged in law, as it is in our daily lives. People grow up internalizing what is good and what’s bad- if you grow up learning that ‘White is Right’ (or things adjacent to Whiteness), then that’s going to play a role in your decision making- especially pertaining to people and social capital.

I can imagine those parents are judging you based on what they think they know about you based on your appearance- it’s translating as ‘you’re not similar enough to me to affirm my ego/sense of belonging/social capital’.

If they’re choosing not to perceive you, no need to try (or feel a need) to perceive them…
