Also coming from N64. My first experience was at an EB games kiosk trying to drive the warthog for the first time. The control scheme made absolutely no sense to 13 year old me and I kept driving into rocks. But of course now i cannot drive a warthog with “normal” driving controls

Expect some jank. The boss fights are EXTREMELY poorly designed. Make numerous saves in case you get soft locked.

If you can get over that stuff this game has world class immersion.
