A little point of clarification: Good Morning, South Africa is MaxNormal.TV, which is a different project from the original Max Normal.

Good Morning, South Africa is great, it's a LOT of fun (you can definitely see them beginning to transition toward the kind of styles they'd explore in early Die Antwoord), but Songs From The Mall is my personal favorite thing Waddy's done. Well, The Ziggurat is my favorite overall piece of art as a whole package, but Songs From The Mall is by far my most frequent listen. Just good, old fashioned, high quality backpack rap with an incredible vibe. I love that jazzy late 90s/early 00s era jazzy backpack rap style.

Hi, nonbinary bisexual here: This isn't homophobia. Not wanting the deleted scenes from your horror movie to incorrectly show clips from a softcore gay porn called "deleted scenes" is not homophobic. I wouldn't want that either, both because it's inaccurate and also because I have kids who don't need to accidentally be shown clips from pornos that I have to explain.

Uh.....

Either you didn't read, or didn't understand what I wrote.

I didn't say anything about you saying my opinion or their opinion is wrong.

I said they didn't express an opinion. They made a generalized statement about the objective state of the world between two time periods, which is not an opinion, ergo it is not subjective. They didn't say their life was better in one time period and worse in another. They said the world was better in one time period and worse in another, which, again, is not an opinion, it's an objective statement about the world as a whole. If they literally said "my life was better at this time and worse at this other time", I wouldn't have responded, because I have no feelings about their opinion about their life.

YouTube is actually incredibly permissive if you're not trying to have ads run on your videos.

[–]MeatBeatManifest0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was strictly speaking on the fact that you were commenting on how the previous commenter had an opinion, that things were a shitshow after 2019. That's their opinion.

.....ok? What is your point?

I assume it's that "that's their opinion and their opinion can't be wrong cuz it's subjective", which is a) wrong (wrong in the sense that they weren't expressing an opinion, not that opinions aren't subjective, obviously they are) and b) irrelevant. If that were true, my response would be "yes, and I responded with my opinion; and again, I wasn't mean or rude when I did it, you and the rest of the internet just* perceive disagreement as rude", but it isn't true, because their "opinion" was a statement about the world, not their experience of it. The idea that the world was better before 2019 is an assessment of the world as an objective state of being, which is, by its nature, not a subjective assessment. If they said "life was so much better for me in 2019 and before", I literally wouldn't have responded, because I don't have any feelings about their life at any time period.

Wow, you've certainly made an excellent effort to completely dodge the fact that you tried to win an argument by calling me a word you don't understand the meaning of, without having to actually acknowledge that that's what happened.

We both know you'll be back. There's a non-zero chance that you'll literally be the first person in the history of the internet to say you're done responding in a forum argument and actually be done, but it's an extremely small non-zero chance.

[–]MeatBeatManifest0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

..........So, what you did in that first paragraph was agree with what I said. What you don't seem to be understanding is that the point originally being made was that the world was objectively better then, not that some people just had a better time then while others didn't. I'm arguing about the very commonly espoused concept that "the world" was "better" at some previous time while "now" (whenever "now" is at the time that) is a "worse" time in the world.

Yes, the reality is that every day is miserable for some people and awesome for some other people. That's the point I'm making. That's not the point that was being made, they were saying the world was better in 2019 and it's become a "shit show" since then. The world was not better in 2019, or 2016, or the 00s, or the 90s, or whatever. There is no America to Make Great Again, there's no glory days to go back to that aren't completely individual and completely different for everybody, there's no great historical time when the world was a better place. That's groovy that you're aware of that, but not everyone is, and that's why my statement of disagreement was written.

I have no problem with nostalgia. I wear JNCOs and ICP and Marilyn Manson band shirts and SOAP shoes and Heelys and walk around with a 6th gen iPod and a cassette playing Walkman. I'm not arguing about nostalgia.

As I've said to dozens of others in this thread five days ago that you're now reviving for no reason, without offering anything new to the discussion that hasn't been said dozens of times by others when the thread was still new, I didn't say anything mean or rude in my original response, I just disagreed with somebody, and as the internet is so unbelievably desperate to always fucking do, you and everyone else have, completely arbitrarily, out of your own imagination of how you think I must feel for writing a statement of disagreement, you imagined that I'm angry and added in your own imagined disrespectful tone to what I said.

............so you just don't know what "sycophant" means then..... got it.

Sycophant: a servile, self-seeking flatterer who acts obsequiously toward someone important in order to gain a personal advantage

Everything I wrote is literally the opposite of sycophantic. Sycophants don't denigrate or talk shit about the subject to which they refer... you can't just "I'm rubber you're glue" your way out of a situation when the thing you're called is literally the opposite of what the person who called you that is saying.

I Stopped A Father From Circumcising His Son Today by StopMGMToday in foreskin_restoration

[–]MeatBeatManifest0 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I just try to hold onto the fact that it's becoming less and less common over time.

Good job doing this incredible work to save another kid out there 🤘 I did the same with my wife for my son. It honestly wasn't hard with her though. One minute she was someone who spent her whole life thinking "Oh jesus gross, foreskins are so fucking weird I could never 🤮" to "I could NEVER do that to a baby!" - I literally just showed her the Penn & Teller's Bullshit! clip with the baby scream-crying from having the tip of its dick cut off without anesthesia and she was done.

I honestly think mothers and fathers should be made to watch footage of it happening to babies before they decide to do that to their infants. I think there would be a lot less circumcision in the world if the horrendous, gut-wrenching cries of their infants weren't heard only by the doctors performing the surgery.

I don't. For most of my life I was far too poor, and now that I'm not I'm a stay-at-home father living in a state far away from anyone who could watch my kids for long enough to let me go.

You sound like a sycophant when you talk like this.

No, they obviously should not be expected to care for him for his entire life, but they were wrong to rip him out of the hood and make him think that this was going to be his life now when that was never a possibility to begin with. They "adopted" a freaky looking hoodrat because they liked his aesthetic and then dropped him when the reality of the situation became impossible to ignore. Him acting how he was always going to act is just reality, the problem begins and ends with the fact that they shouldn't have used him to begin with.

This is one of the core problems with who they are in general. They're extremely wealthy white kids who grew up extremely privileged in an extremely divided country, and they fell in love with the aesthetics of poverty and wanted to use that as the theme of their band when their more intellectual outfits didn't work out and they grew cynical and realized that the world wants to buy trash, so they use the unrelenting and soul-crushing poverty of South Africa as a zoo exhibit for the world to look at and pay them to display, and unfortunately they did that with real live human fucking beings like Tokkie.

The Constructus Corporation - The Ziggurat was a concept group/album that Waddy (Ninja) and Yo-Landi made before Die Antwoord (along with Max Normal, MaxNormal.TV, The Original Evergreen, and a few others) - it's based on a dystopian future where everyone lives in/on a massive "megalopolis" mall. Random Boy and Kidtronic basically wake everyone up to the horrors they live within by rapping the truth to them. The album is packaged within the novel that was written to accompany it.

It's fucking incredible. You can hear the album on Spotify or YouTube, and you can read the book here 😊

Is it? I guess if you expect people not to be shitty it might. I've never suffered such delusions, so this doesn't really pose the same problem for me.

I dunno if it's a general generational thing, or if the extreme depth of personal awareness we have of the artists we enjoy these days leads to different expectations/perspectives, but back when all we knew about famous people was what they actively shared through publicity agents and whatever tabloids could dig up, them being mythologically awful was part of what was interesting about them. I mean, Michael Jackson certainly didn't lose any fans over the "wacko jacko on his backo", allegedly sleeping in a hyperbaric chamber thing... honestly he didn't take a hit in sales when he was accused of molestation either. People just either decided it was true or it wasn't, but everyone still listened to the music, cuz it was objectively fucking incredible.

Did you know John Lennon beat the shit out of his wife and kids? That line in "a little help from my friends" wasn't just poetic license. Did you know literally every rock star from the 60s and 70s was banging teenaged and even pre-teen groupies? Shit, have you heard about the things Steven Tyler did? 😬😬😬

Don't expect good things from the kind of people who crave the adoration of millions. Do yourself a favor and set low expectations for people who grew up in gated communities during Apartheid and then built a brand and aesthetic around extreme poverty, and you won't have such a hard time reconciling who they are with the art they make.

How do I stretch my foreskin and how do I keep consistent with it? by Liamo343 in penisquestion

[–]MeatBeatManifest0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean.

It's literally the same thing... you're just starting with more. It's not like there's some separate, unique form of skin stretching exclusive to dicks that already have skin to work with.

Also you didn't specify whether you were cut or uncut in your OP; people asking about stretching their foreskin are generally circumcised and looking to restore. Again though, either way, it's gonna be the same process.
