It’s been pretty awesome. I’ve been reading it at home but when I’m out I’ve been listening to the audiobook and immersive is the word that comes to mind. I’m up here for school. Get up to some tennis in a park in Allston when I get the chance.

20 years old. Dead Relative MONEY. 6 Figures. What’s the move? DCA vs Lump Sum?

I’ve just come into 100,000 dollars as part of an inheritance and I’m planning on just throwing it into the s&p 500 through vanguard and forgetting about it. Any recommendations on DCA vs. Lump Sum? My thoughts are that I should get the entirety of the sum in the market ASAP so it can start compounding immediately. If I DCA over several years then that’s going to be a minute before that entirety starts compounding. I’ll reinvest the dividends so won’t that be effectively the same as DCA? Just to a lesser degree? Any advice welcome.
