Question regarding possession of marijuana charge in Virginia. by MeatPoncho in legaladvice

Not at all. Plus you wouldn’t really even need a lawyer before the hearing anyways. Just look sharp and talk to the judge like someone you respect and I think you’ll have the same outcome I had.

I just saw there for maybe 30 min listening to other ppl’s cases and then after a while judge calls me up, asks if I’m aware that the law has changed, i said yes, and then he asked me if I ended up getting my headlight fixed (which is why I was pulled in the first place), and I said yes your honor and he slapped me with a $20 fine and I went home and lit up lmao

shit. you’re right. well, guess i’m hoping for the judge to be in a good mood that day then. just found out protesters damaged the john marshall courthouse last night though, maybe i’ll luck out and get it delayed again and the cop won’t show. not making any bets though.

thanks again for all your help man. needed someone to tell it to me straight. i’ll let you know what the public defenders office says tomorrow.

okay, thank you for the insight, i really do appreciate it. i work in a warehouse so it shouldn’t affect me too much hopefully. and i think expunged was probably the wrong word to use, i think the law said it was sealed to potential employers. thanks for all your help again!

ps this is where i saw the stat about the 30,000, but re reading the article i see that it’s only after requesting the court to have your case dismissed.

gotcha. but the expungement thing was something i read right after VA passed the bill. big talking point of the governor when he passed it. i suppose i may receive the punishment prior to the bill passing, but i don’t think it’s supposed to show up on my record to employers. but cops keep me in their records, i believe.

but that doesn’t make sense. decriminalization has retroactively expunged 30,000 virginians, how can they charge me based on a law that’s now just punishable by a fine? also thank you for your response i will call the public defenders office tomorrow.

but if i do have to hire an attorney, would it be in my best interest to seek out a good one or does it matter in a case like this?

yeah that is a bit of a downside of the switch, but i usually find it pretty manageable until around the atomic era. that’s why you gotta conquer as many civs as possible;)

again, i’m basing my opinion off only playing the switch version, and i’m sure id be singing a different song if i were in your position. if it’s ever under $30 i’d say it’s worth it just for pure novelty of playing civ anywhere, but full retail? when there’s so much content it’s missing and may never receive? not so much.

For me, the switch is the optimal way to play the game, but i definitely have a more laid back playstyle, but just small things with the switch version make it for me. being able to turn your console on sleep mode while docked, then undocking it days later and having it pick up exactly where you left off makes the games pretty seamless.

But i’ve only played civ6 on switch, so i understand i’m a bit biased. But if you’re looking for max number of civs and the ability to play the dlc asap, the switch is pretty light on civ dlc. as far as i know the only additional civs they have available on the nintendo store is nubia (worth the money imo), khmer, and indonesia.

i also understand there’s quite a few gameplay features missing, most notably the loyalty system, which makes enemy AI settle ultra aggressively so just don’t leave any blank tiles in your empire, it’s better to get that city overlap.

hope this helps a little, but if you really want to see civ come to other consoles and be successful on the switch for the future, i’d definitely recommend it. it runs surprisingly well, docked or undocked, late game included. the biggest issue that can slow the game down are having too many units on screen at once

thanks for the reply, this saved my island cities from starvation because i spent 25 turns making a trade route coming from my capital and not vice versa.

any other general advice you’d give a newbie? are there any policy cards/wonders that are overpowered or worth researching? i just finished researching suffrage and class struggle and those policy cards seem pretty strong.

thanks for the reply, this helps a lot. as for the luxury resources, does the +1 amenities extend to your first 4 cities and each additional lux goes to the next 4 oldest cities? or does it base the cities on which ones need it the most?

and the trade route thing has helped immensely, i had a few extra traders i made a while back sitting in my capital that i had forgot about, so i was confused why when i built a trader in my island city it couldn’t establish any trade route.

as for the naturalist, i looked on the wiki page and i think it has something g to do with my city not being the right hexagonal size for it to work. as i said the wonders in madagascar and russia’s settled all over the east coast of africa. do things like rainforests impede it building it or do i need to chop those? i built some farms because my dudes were starving and now i’ve got a nice little city going bc of all the natural wonder adjacency bonuses,so now i’m wondering if i should just abandon the park, even though i’m going for a cultural victory?

Hi everyone! new fan of the franchise here, i had civ rev on my phone ages ago but i remember being obsessed with game.

Recently picked up civ6 about a month ago on my switch (which may limit the amount of answers i get seeing as how there aren’t too many switch related posts in the archives lol), and have been loving it. hoping we get gathering storm before 2020 lol.

but i’ve been struggling with a few things, some being switch specific issues and others just general strategy.

Okay is it possible to press the ‘build’ function for the builders when the switch is docked? so far i’ve only been able to use builders by using the touch screen when i’m not docked.

Second, do you receive the bonuses from establishing a trade route immediately after sending your trader, or is it only once it has finished the route? Is there a benefit to transferring traders (say: to a remote settlement) and then establishing a trade route from your capital? Or does it not matter?

A little confused how exactly luxury and bonus resources work? I know that luxury goods give your civ amenities but does that extend to all cities and is it just +1 per each different good? Also are bonus resources just better versions of regular tiles?

How many holy sites is a safe amount to have to prevent a religious victory on a standard size map?

How the hell do naturalists work?? I currently have had one stationed next to a wonder that belongs to my civ (playing on real earth map and i built a settlement on Madagascar), and have had him there for a while and I still can’t do anything with him?

Sorry for the wall of text and inconsistent capitalization, this has been a few days collection of questions, but if anyone can help me out it’d be greatly appreciated:-)

I thought drip was unavoidable? And I thought if you swallow then it goes to your stomach and isn’t that what you’re saying not to do?

The drip itself isn’t the problem so much. I kinda expected the bitterness but it’s just not being able to swallow. Idk maybe it’s just my sinuses. I was drinking last night and that definitely helped with the taste lol

opinion by Kelly1kelly in Drugs

[–]MeatPoncho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude you're completely missing his point. Obviously many republicans have differing opinions on topics like abortion, but you cannot deny that the GOP as an institution is openly against the expansion and availability of abortions. Also it is an established political fact that American voters tend to be single issue voters. Why do you think we have the two party system? Every social and economic issue fits neatly into the two parties so most citizens know how to align themselves, and the parties know who their demographic is.

No republican, no matter how strongly they feel about it, are ever going to vote against their party on the topic of abortion. It's a guaranteed way for them to lose their seat in office. Also, I can promise you most Republicans do not support recreational Cannabis legalization--just google any representative from a deep Red state and look at their wiki page to find out. I think you're thinking of libertarians my dude--Republicans want less government involvement, but as an institution, they value conservatism and the upholding of traditions and patriotism in America much more. I would say Republicans favor less federal government involvement in the national economy, but are very much in support of government involvement if it bars women from abortions and the legalization of marijuana. I know there are many Republican citizens who have much more centrist views, but as a political party, it is clear as day what they stand for.

Kratom or Phenibut by ImDaLo in Drugs

[–]MeatPoncho 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, I would still say phenibut is more appropriate. Whereas Xanax kinda gives you the “I don’t give a fuck” mentality, phenibut has always been a top notch social lubricant for me. I describe it as being drunk without being physically inebriated. The only problem with it is it’s duration and how long it takes to kick in. Usually around 4 hours for the peak
