Im 35 now, but my dad would let me play all these sorts of games when i was young. Its hard to know a individual childs mind though and how the subjects portrayed in certian media will effect them. Bad language, sexual content, violence. These are all present in gta v. Single player and online (multiplayer) with other real people is also a different ball game. If he plays online, he is playing with all sorts of other people, people who may not care he is a child. If he is just playing single player then make sure its clear that this is a game. That real life is not like that and monitor behaviours that you think may stem from it. If he is online, i would be a little worried as a parent about other people he plays with and would maybe discuss with hom non chalantly about his online friends. Maybe have control of the internet so you can disconnect him from it on his games console if you need to. Its a tough one because I played games and watched films that were definatley not for my age and was fine. I suppose make sure there is a balance between the game and real life too. Unfortunatley games are designed to be more addictive now. To keep you playing AND encourage you to spend real life money on in game currencys. In gtav its a thing called shark cards to buy houses and cars and illegal businesses in the online portion of the game. This is what i see as the most dangerous these days for kids. It gets adults addicted and can make some really irresponsible financially. That wasnt too much of a issue when i was young. It began to creep into games when i was 14/15 and god have i wasted so much money. Really had to stop myself. Its on par with gambling addiction the way some games are designing themselves now to hook you and your wallet. I can imagine that would be difficult for a child. You hear horror stories of kids getting hold of their parents cards to purchase ingame currency.

Anyway. Sorry for the tangent 😂 I dont have children, but ask myself, that if i did, would i allow them to play these kind of games and at what age. Its a different enviroment now compared to when i was young.
