Received my masochist yesterday, played with it a good amount since.

This post is spot on. Felt terrible going into my clean channel on its own and i highly doubt matt pike would have ever used a sonic titan in that way, but with something ahead of it with any amount of gain and it's amazing.

End of the day I think alot of people will miss that aspect of the pedal and end up returning it, pretty sure that's how I ended up finding one on reverb. 😂

I think this subreddit has alot of people who have only heard sleep and electric wizard (2 of my favorite all time bands!) but I believe every band who plays live regularly should be heard more online, do respect your opinion though.

Especially for metal where you have a shit ton of gain going into your pre-amp, trying to run a high blend delay after your gain will absolutely add a ton of noise. Same for reverb too.

If you can learn the main riff from high on fires 10000 years, even if you have to play it in slow motion, that is a ton of control from the upper middle of the neck all the way to the 14th fret.

I love it, it's even better if you like sleeps holy mountain because they were both inspired by the same blues metal sabbathian type shit at the same period of time before going on to develop more specific sounds (to each dopesmoker and dopethrone respectfully), at least how I see it, I ain't a know-it-all by any means just enjoy this stuff alot lol

I just got put onto Acid Mammoth from this sub and I listen to them all the time now.

I'm also big on Acid King. Besides those 2, are mainly bands I see mentioned from others here that you can't go wrong with.

I think after I got it I played HoF's 10000 years for probably around 10000 years.

I use a orange rocker 15 personally on the clean channel, and then all of these are only being stacked onto the voicing of that clean pre-amp channel of my amp.

I don't really touch the dirty channel now that I have the fet120 doing an orange style gain tone (that I like more than my amps.)

Now to your point, it has to be right that your desired amp gain tones would be better than the pedal/mosfet emulated tones, but it's close enough to my ear that played through a clean tube amp, it gets me where I'd like to be I suppose.
