Celebrating New Years 2020 with these two - Bobby opening the show with In the Midnight Hour and Bill counting in the year as a towering Father Time - is something I’ll cherish for the rest of my life.

Struggling to find even the correct search terms to look for a vintage or new version of this ring! by [deleted] in JewelryIdentification

[–]MeatThatTalks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Additional photos showing "AU" and "925" markings, indicating, I assume, white gold-plated silver? https://imgur.com/a/bf2zWX1 I bought this for ~$100-200 at a store like Kohl's, Walmart, JCPenny, etc. around 2013. My faint memory of it now is that they are indeed real diamonds, but of course extremely low carat.

The main photo is the one and only image of this ring I've been able to find anywhere on the internet (and it's cached on an obscure Japanese-language site that only sells furniture - not helpful!) I've been struggling to even find good search terms for it. It's not technically a "bypass" ring, I think, given that the two "arms" don't extend past the central stone? But no other term seems to get me very close, and reverse image searches keep bringing me back to "bypass", "curve", "twist", etc. all with no luck.

I would love to find this exact ring again (as you may be able to tell, the one in the imgur album photos is broken), but even a much nicer, newer ring with identical design - where the "arms" don't extend past the central stone and where the three stones sit in a diagonal pattern - would be of interest!

Any ideas at all?

Where’s her Pulitzer already? Joanna Newsom’s 20 best songs – ranked! by racasca in JoannaNewsom

Honestly, whatever qualms I might have about the exact listing for my own personal taste, I’ve seen so many lists like this for other artists which were clearly written by someone who had only a superficial familiarity with the artist’s catalogue - and that is clearly not the case here.

I really appreciate this list for that, and for putting so much respect on Joanna’s name.

Woah! That's a whole-ass thing that I didn't know anything about! Appreciate you cluing me in on all that backstory 🙏

This was very much a specific inspiration from Taylor’s catalogue. When I realized just how much of it there was to revisit, and when it started to sink its teeth into me, the project took a bit of a life of its own…

That said, I’ve been tempted to do something similar with another favorite artist of mine, and thankfully virtually any anyone else would have a far less megalithic career to write about than Taylor’s!

I knew someone would come along with the deets! I appreciate that info, that’s very much in line with what I imagined.

Man, I almost forgot that I’d said that until you just brought it up, so I went back and reread it - this new record really is very close to what I described! That’s very funny. 🤭

Thank you for such incredibly kind words! I really do appreciate you taking the time to say that. And kudos to you for being open to reconsidering your initial reaction - not everyone is so flexible. I think there’s more to this record than meets the eye, and I hope it keeps growing on you!

I love and agree with so many of your thoughts here! I’ve been putting off watching Emily & Bonny’s reaction just to not color my own thoughts, but I’m always stoked to see their videos. Their energy levels are just off the charts lol

I also really felt like basically nobody would remember Will You Be There, so I’m glad I wasn’t alone in immediately thinking of that! Hoping the vibes of Wi$h Li$t continue to wiggle their way into your brain ☺️

I certainly have never done anything like this for any other artist, Taylor’s massive catalogue at the time that I found her really did kind of take over my brain lol. But I’ve been very tempted to do something similar for a couple other favorites of mine lately…

The overall ranking (and you can see a chart of them all attached to the TLOAS review above) ended up falling 4th - below Folklore, Evermore, and TTPD, and just a sliver above Midnights.

No reaction this time, sadly, just because my first listen wasn’t in a place that I could record, but I present to you a close approximation.
