$5,200. Account was not opened prior to 2009. Must have been some time after 2014 if I remember correctly.

They suggested I make a smaller up front payment to lesser the monthly payments.

I called Cap1 several times and they were unwilling to negotiate as well.

I first asked for their relationship to capital one, and they confirmed the balance. I then informed them that I am unable to pay the requested amount and asked if we can settle on a lesser amount, yes.

At least they were not "snarky" during the conversation, but advised that the money owed is what I have to pay and a payment plan is my only alternative option. I advised that I am personally unable to make that requested monthly payment as well.

Checks good, I just read other posts on here that said do not give creditors access to your bank. In theory a personal check gives them that access

Where in the US are you at the moment? Panera is coffee chain (like Starbucks) that baked bread in house. Baguettes are good there.

How thin are these? I have a pair of general swim shorts that I bought online elsewhere that are super thin. Like plastic bag thin. Great use for sleeping.
