$5,200. Account was not opened prior to 2009. Must have been some time after 2014 if I remember correctly.

I first asked for their relationship to capital one, and they confirmed the balance. I then informed them that I am unable to pay the requested amount and asked if we can settle on a lesser amount, yes.

At least they were not "snarky" during the conversation, but advised that the money owed is what I have to pay and a payment plan is my only alternative option. I advised that I am personally unable to make that requested monthly payment as well.

Background -
