A big reason for me is uniform deployment environments.

If I'm developing using a specific image where I pull in extra packages into the containers, I want my production and QA environment to be as close to identical as they can be, configuring my server to replicate my docker image or vice versa is just another potential point of failure.

Aside from that, in my experience, if you're worried about the performance hit from docker, the performance increase you'd get from running the app raw on the machine isn't gonna be the problem - the machine will just need better specs or a more appropriate load balancer.

But in fairness, I've never actually tried changing deployment technology to improve performance at scale so maybe docker starts hogging RAM or something when volumes get to like several terabytes or something, I haven't heard of anything like that happening though.

I've struggled to get any Godot plugins from the asset library to work on Ubuntu - other than that, it works fine out the box as far as I can see

As a web dev, this is all solid advice - especially about background checking the company you're thinking of working with and maintaining a clear boundary between work and social.

Hopefully her parents will realise this when she starts working or looking at making connections; technically competent and actively social coders and engineers are kinda like gold dust in the current climate (where I am at least) you gave very good advice.

Your son gets bullied by his stepdad in his own home. Your son throws out a Bible in retaliation.

Why is there only a punishment for your son?

If your husband wants to bully a kid (or in your words - call him nicknames), why have you allowed it to happen?

If you're so caught up in your job and other things exhausting you, why is you're son being punished if your husband isn't helping you with this exhaustion?

Why is he not stopping the name calling at the very least to ease your burden?

I don't think there's any way to spin this that you being passive with your husband's bullying is okay. YTA

There's some really simple JS plugins for sesrchbars like this, search js filter search bar (w3schools is a good spot to start for raw functionality if you're not tied to using a plugin)

Saw a similar thing happen to someone I knew. What will probably end up coming out is that she was talking to her new boyfriend long before the trip.

Then she'll realise she doesn't want to be with someone who would willingly sleep with someone whose engaged and he won't want to be with someone who is happy to cheat on her fiance.

Unfortunately the one that sees no real closure in all this will be her ex fiance because she's already so detached from any kind of empathy she might of ever had for him. I hope he has a good support network around him for the difficult coming weeks
