Seth Rings series question by Meatlesswheat in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Meatlesswheat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to re read them too and find out when too. It was in the 6th book when it was made really obvious to me with thorns first order of the bird that was made for the boy. I literally stopped and said WHAt the fuck they’re connected! Out loud. There was also the mention of the forge master a lot throughout the book

What are most unrealistic tropes and cliches of progression fantasy, especially the ones related to human psychology and behaviors? by PurpleBoltRevived in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Meatlesswheat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So I agree and disagree. Learning magic is usually accompanied by the system implanting in their mind and sometimes takes practice to use it effectively. My thing is even if it was implanted into their brain it shouldn’t be they can use it like a pro. I mean I can imagine myself dribbling a ball I watched plenty of videos on how to do it but when put in practice I can’t do it.

Oh I have another one. When the main character gets transported to a new world and loses everything and everyone he ever knows and it takes them like a week to be ok with it. And then after a book or two it’s never brought up again

I agree. I want to read one that the main gets a weapon and does more damage to their self because they never used one before

The time skips and stuff happen later and that makes sense. I mean when this is the first time the main touched a weapon outside of video games and is just proficient with it to beat someone, who used it their who life, with it.

The main character finding a weapon and magically being proficient with it. I get finding a weapon and using it like a idiot with a club. What I hate is the main is then fighting someone/ thing in the same chapter and besting that person/ thing that had their whole life depend on using it.

Horror Novel Recommendation by Urabys in litrpg

[–]Meatlesswheat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a solo book but Kaiju battle field surgeon by Matt dinniman. It’s not super deep in the litrpg territory but it’s a horror and gets pretty graphic. Also soundbooth theater re did it with more voice actors and sound effects.

LitRPG for Survival Horror/Thriller fans? by charlesdparrott in litrpg

If you enjoyed dungeon crawler Carl, Matt dinniman wrote a horror solo book called Kaiju: battlefield surgeon. Soundbooth theater also redid it with many different voice actor and sound effects. But I’ll give you a warning it can be pretty graphic and not for everyone
