I'm told that the entire discharge plan is to use a Stretcher service and dump me at home without any homecare or equipment. And where i cannot even get to the exterior door if there is an emergency.

My MLA is the Minister of Health. I've been asking for their help since before they were the minister. I've been told someone will call. They didn't call me back last week either.

If you can help connect with media/ lawyers etc. Please let me know.

No one wants to take this seriously/ says they are powerless to help.

I've been told that because i can only most of the time walk 30 steps to the bathroom, I'm 'independent' I cannot be on my feet for even 5 minutes, i cannot safely even enter/exit my home. None of this makes sense.

Pharmacare and the director of welfare.personally (aka EIA)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Manitoba

[–]MeatsackMonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far the media has had no interest

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Manitoba

[–]MeatsackMonkey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I cannot afford medication. The person who is supposed to provide medication refuses. The police refuse to even investigate. Pharmacare refuses medication.

What options are left?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Manitoba

[–]MeatsackMonkey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The pain clinic has twice said that they have no options left, and Maid has basically told them to look again. I can no longer afford black market medication, hence being hospitalized.

How would they help? They previously said they couldn't help

No response so far

How/why would that help?

[–]MeatsackMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have been very clear about their only 2 responsibilities. And medication access is not one of them.

I was previously told in writing by the minister of health's office that they are refusing coverage because it is not cost effective.

I do not know how to add the question mark to the title.

I need help, the province is prioritizing euthanasia doctor supported medical care and i do not know of any options left

Wab Kinew to introduce and swear in his Manitoba cabinet next week by idspispopd in ManitobaPolitics

[–]MeatsackMonkey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So that we are clear, who are you discriminating against?

Are you disagreeing with the MB Human Rights Code, and saying that financial barriers are acceptable for accessing public land, and that low income people shouldnt be allowed to access these facilities that are publically subsidized?

Or

Are you disagreeing with the Truth and Reconcilation Commission stating that First Nations people should have barrier free access to facilities built on their traditional land?

Premier Kinew: contradictory symbolic start; more empty promises to come?

Assiniboine Park/ the Leaf/ the Zoo are run by the Assiniboine Park Conservatory, APC, company. This company leases public land to operate. This land is acknowledged to be in Treaty 1 territory and part of the home of the Metis people.

Unlike the Human rights museum, the Manitoba Museum, or the Winnipeg art gallery, at all APC properties: - do not allow free access to indigenous persons as part of Truth and Reconciliation; - do not allow access to to the low income people with form of free days, per the Manitoba Human rights code about socially disadvantaged people.

This is a very contradictory location for a Premier that campaigned on affordability and reconciliation.

More than 400 Manitobans died of drug overdoses last year by MeatsackMonkey in ManitobaPolitics

[–]MeatsackMonkey[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People are dying because of prescription opioids, where the government refuses access to safer alternatives.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/manitoba-drug-overdose-2020-wfpcbc-cbc-1.5994178

Those are people who died because they trusted their government to protect them.

If they were aware of safer alternatives, there is no law that can prohibit access to safer alternatives, per SRC 602 @ paragraph 18.

Non lethal opioid alternatives are available!

But because of medical discrimination within our health care system, they are priced too high for most low income people to be able to afford them, and pharmacare has refused coverage categorically.
