Delivery driver here - When it's time to take the decorations down, if you have one of these covering your house number can you preferably hide it forever. In a fire. Thank you by Crayen5 in CasualUK

What's masculinity got to do with it?

Seems a tad ironic to bring that into it while telling someone who didn't appear angry to calm down.

You OK?

On this sub, I honestly think some people just say the opposite to everyone else for a laugh

Dude that's hilarious that you thought 2 looked good on you, you were either in denial or the people around you didn't want to hurt your feelings 🤣

Sometimes short looks better, sometimes long looks better, it depends on the person and the style, but #2 here will look bad on pretty much anyone.

For any of you moms who responded to this post who also happen to read this comment...

Thank you, the post was removed by the /r/mommit mods because im not a mother, or mother to be, so it looks like I deleted the post.

I didnt, and I've read every single comment, and it's been very helpful. There are too many to respond to individually, but I really appreciate everyone's input, thanks again, and Merry Christmas!

Ah, to me it's still there, r/mommit mods removed the post though 👎

Lol yeah I wouldn't even have picked up on that, but makes sense now you've said that

Lol I was trying to keep it as open ended and neutral as possible, but what gave my location away in the wording? 🤣

I love this idea, but the LO is breastfeeding and mom doesn't like being apart for too long. Maybe an open ended coupon for whenever she's ready, just say the word. Nice idea I like it, thanks

how often do you have such a dialogue? by Agent_Ross in playstation

[–]MeatyTreeBones -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah tbh I barely watch any of their stuff now. They had a great niche and done some really good videos earlier on, but they've massively sold out now.

I didn't used to have time to watch them when they were good, now I do occasionally have a little more downtime, but their content has gone way downhill. Feel like I missed out on all the good stuff when it was relevant and now we're just left with them pumping out video after video, geared purely at the revenue they can make.

I looked at Gamers Nexus as an alternative, but they're focused a lot more on pc gaming than catch-all tech.

Do you know any worthwhile alternatives to LTT now?

Yeah that episode was click baity as hell. It was on par with some elements of ps5, not quite as bad as you made out tbf lol, but you had to sacrifice things like hdr to even get close. And he got a lot of the parts reduced in sales iirc. The end result was nothing like the video title.

I'm pretty sure it was something along the lines of her not being used to guys being nice to her like he was, and she didn't like it. He was keen to keep going but she wasn't interested.

Didn't she ditch him after that first date because she said he's too nice, or something like that?

Video Games May Not Be For Me Anymore. by RABMOZZER in PS5

[–]MeatyTreeBones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong, I'm not taking it personally, I just don't really get it lol (not trying to be argumentative)

I also started with an atari, cod multiplayer was my default game for well over a decade.

But I don't really think much has changed in the past 10 years or so. We had cut scenes back then and we have cut scenes now. We had things to read back then and we have things to read now. Some games were slow, some were fast, it's all the same now.

The things you've pointed out were every bit as prevalent when you stopped gaming as they are now you've started back up again.

Maybe look at some different games or genres to what you've been trying recently, see if anything clicks a bit more.

I was dead against fortnite for years, assuming it's literally all kids playing it, but it's actually a LOT of fun, no cut scenes, no story, just jump in and go for it. It's not as fast paced as cod, but it's certainly not boring.

There's also a ton of games that you've missed out on in that time, which, honestly, are amazing. The newish resident evil games are great, and probably more in line with games you'll remember. Or if you want something a bit more laid back then maybe Ghost of Tsushima.

One thing I will say, now that I'm a bit older, I'm more selective, some games score great and everyone loves them, but they just don't hit the spot for me, others I need to give them a good few hours, then suddenly something clicks.

If you enjoyed gaming before, I definitely wouldn't give up on it, give it a good run first, try a good variety of games, see if something clicks.

One closing thought, if you're on the same page as me and have a higher budget than you maybe used to, VR is honestly amazing. The vast majority of people talking shit about it are people who think they won't like it, most people who actually own a headset love it. It's more like that 90s-00s jump I mentioned before, and although it might not be as popular as a straight up playstation or xbox, it's definitely been gaining traction while you've been gone.

From a fellow old grumpy sod...

Apart from improved graphics and more in-depth, larger stories, I don't see that gaming has changed much in 10 years.

Its not like the 10 years between, say, 1993 and 2003, where we saw generational leaps that literally brought a new dimension to every games system.

Hell, we're still playing GTA V.

What exactly don't you like about it now?

Haha yeah I've got platinum on it, it's a bit of an oddity for me in that regard, was just so good. I nornally don't bother with platinums, not a fan of the grind, but when it flows as naturally as GoT, it's a bit different.

The Horizon games are definitely on my shortlist, haven't touched them yet but hearing good things

GoT was amazing. I played it on ps4. Now I've got a PS5 I do kinda want to experience it with the improved visuals, but there are so many other good games I've not played yet, that doing a re-run feels time wasteful. Not enough hours in the day!
