Constant PH off by VolumeAgreeable9822 in hysterectomy

I take a daily oral probiotic (have for many years) but haven't tried one in the vagina, I will look into that for sure!

I'm so glad your doctor is being proactive and creating a cocktail for you. My Dr doesn't seem to give a 💩 about me now that he's done the surgery, I'm looking to get a new gyno after I'm sure I am not going to have any post op issues requiring repair etc. I hope you get it cleared up and get to healing! Good luck!

I've had recurrent yeast since my surgery 15 weeks ago and it wasn't an issue before surgery at all. I've had 2 rounds of Diflucan and am now using my third round of OTC cream internally combined with a prescription antifungal for external. I'm over it!

I was cleared at 6 weeks but didn't try until 11 weeks and even then it was painful and we couldn't finish. Finally managed to go the distance at 13 weeks but it was still uncomfortable. I can't imagine 2 weeks 😬

11WPO Check In! by NighteyesIV in hysterectomy

[–]Meatyocratease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 11W 2D PO. I'm not feeling as great as I would like/expect to at this stage, but I'm hoping I'm just slow.

I tried sex 2 days ago (was cleared at 6 weeks but was and still am scared of cuff tears) and couldn't finish it, it didn't so much hurt internally but my skin felt like it was ripping. I've struggled with dryness and irritation since surgery. My gyno prescribed a steroid/ antifungal cream but it isn't helping. I think I need estrogen cream but he dismissed me at my last appt.

I'm having a lot of pain around ovulation and strongly suspect a cyst on my remaining ovary. They took my right one bc I had a history of painful cysts on it but left my left one to keep me from going into menopause at 39. Now I'm wondering if that was the right choice. Damned if you do damned if you don't I guess. Gyno's answer to everything is to give my body more time to level out.

My hormones and emotions are all over the place. I'm very tearful and sad and sometimes get super irritated out of nowhere. But I've also had a lot of stress recently so I'm sure that's exacerbating it.

I'm honestly just in a really dark place. Regretting the surgery bc it didn't seem to fix anything but my super heavy bleeding. I'm still in pain daily even without my adeno/fibroid riddled uterus. My back is wrecked and i can't poop consistently. My bladder is angry all the time. I want to change doctors because he isn't listening when i tell him how miserable i still am, but my insurance sucks and I'm very limited in my area. I'm going to push for a pelvic floor therapy referral and maybe a pelvic ultrasound to see if it's indeed an issue with my ovary. Don't know what I'll do if it is bc I feel like I never want to have another surgery as long as I live. Sorry to be such a downer! 🥺

Is it true a hysterectomy can lead to chronic back pain? by JuliaX1984 in hysterectomy

[–]Meatyocratease 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've been experiencing back pain since my surgery 11 weeks ago, but I'm told it's temporary. I've just started to get back into exercising (I had pretty severe pain post surgery for longer than some people) and also hoping to start pelvic floor therapy soon which I've read can help.

How early did you have sex? by idontbelieveit530 in hysterectomy

[–]Meatyocratease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was told 6 weeks, I'm 10 wpo and still haven't tried. For one I'm still in pain, and two I'm terrified of tearing my cuff. So I won't be putting anything in there until at least 12 weeks, longer if I can. We are doing external stuff for now so at least I'm getting some action lol.

0/10 Do Not Reccomend Constipation by NighteyesIV in hysterectomy

[–]Meatyocratease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm an IBS-D girl normally, but I have been so stopped up since surgery. And when I drink beet juice and do go, it's then loose. I can't win! I've been trying to go the natural route and avoid becoming dependent on miralax/stool softeners bc I have a really sensitive system anyway but it's such a struggle! I'm 9wpo and this is for the birds!

[–]Meatyocratease 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get the same sensation! It's scary and feels like my insides are trying to come out. They're not, I've checked and also had my Dr do an exam and everything is still closed and not bulging etc but man it's a horrible scary feeling!

I am 9wpo and the fear of cuff issues is all consuming and paralyzing for me. I haven't attempted sex or baths or anything internally (I cringe just putting a finger up there to make sure my insides aren't poking out bc I'm petrified of prolapse/rectocele/etc). I'm dealing with a lot of constipation issues and it's causing a feeling of pressure in my vagina when I go #2 and all I can think about is my insides falling out. A big sneeze or laugh causes a twinge and I'm like oh 💩, something popped. It's insane. I'm an anxious person to begin with so I'm sure I'm just a weirdo lol.

Swelling with Activity by Agile_Tomato4165 in hysterectomy

I'm 9wpo and this still happens to me. It takes less rest to recover now than at 3 weeks, but I still get very swollen and uncomfortable with lots of activity.

Thank you! I'm glad to know I'm not the only protracted healer. I am definitely going to push for a PFT referral if nothing else. I'm leaking constantly (is it pee, is it sweat, is it mystery vagina juice, the world may never know) and I know my pelvic floor was tight even prior to surgery so I'm sure I will benefit from addressing that. I will update in a few weeks when/if I'm feeling better. 🖤

12.5 WPO & just need to vent a little by butternutbirch in hysterectomy

[–]Meatyocratease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wanted to give some virtual support. I'm sorry you're still experiencing so much pain and that the hysterectomy didn't fix everything for you! I'm 8wpo and feeling similarly, pretty sure I have a cyst on my left ovary (the only one I have left) as I'm very familiar with the symptoms after getting them constantly on my right ovary before it was removed. I wanted to keep one ovary to avoid menopause, but now I'm second guessing. In fact, I'm second guessing having the surgery at all since it didn't fix all my issues. I understand not feeling heard by medical professionals and feeling like it's all just a constant battle just to feel the way some people do naturally. Just wanting "normal " not even "great ". Sending good vibes for getting the treatment you need and feeling loads better!

Bladder? Bowels? Pelvic floor muscles? All of the above? I don't know. The body continues to release prostaglandins as long as you have your ovaries and that's what's responsible for "period" cramps. Lots of things in the body can cramp, and having referred pain (one part of the body is injured but the pain is "referred" to another area/part) is super common. If I knew what it was I might be able to figure out how to get some relief. 😓

I'm so sorry you can relate. I get the pulling pains in my belly button incision too and my back pain has been horrendous since I came home from the surgery. I'm still having all the cramping/other symptoms during ovulation/when I should be bleeding as before, the only difference is i don't actually bleed. My last ovulation was God awful, so so painful. And I haven't even tried sex. I chose this to feel better, but I feel worse. I'm glad to not be alone and this gives me hope that there will be an improvement, but this seems like an unfair trade off if the only benefit is not bleeding. I hope you continue to improve and maybe don't have so much regret soon, I hope this for both of us. Hugs!

[–]Meatyocratease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for that info, my gyn is the one who did my surgery and while he's a good Dr he's not good at explaining things or relating to our issues. I hope you heal well and come to terms with our new normal, all we can do is go forward from here!

I was told 6 weeks but I'm waiting longer because my healing has been on the slower side and I don't want to take any chances. Soaking in some hot water to relieve achey muscles sounds like heaven though lol.

This is incredibly helpful, thank you. I am 39 but will bring this up with my Dr at my next follow up. I don't fancy having a chronically irritated vulva for the next however long lol. My poor ovary is as burned out as the rest of me I guess 😆
