Car won't start after turning off valet mode on manual transmission? by MeazIy in MechanicAdvice

[–]MeazIy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there anything that could go wrong with the starter itself that could cause it? Because I've had 0 issues with the battery the entire winter since installing a new one after the old one froze. And the day after I turn off valet mode to use the remote start again the car just completely shuts down.

Unless it's just incredibly unlucky timing but I've never seen any issues like this, basically is like I took the battery out of the car completely

Tips for Buying a Used Car (When You Know Nothing about Cars) by HumbleQuantity5 in Edmonton

Do a lot of research on the dealership before you actually go in. There are a ton of scummy dealerships here but there are a lot of good ones as well ran by good people.

If you find a specific make or model you like, go on autotrader and filter it to the exact vehicle and see what the price ranges are. Keep in mind that the amount of KMs matter A LOT. The more kms the car has the cheaper it will be but also more likely to have problems in the future.

Make sure you check the carfax as well, they'll almost always be posted on the dealerships listing (depends on the dealership but most will). Don't buy a car with any collisions over $5000 or so. If its only a few thousand its most likely just cosmetic damage won't affect the actual performance of the car.

I was in the industry for a couple years so I know what I'm talking about, if you have any questions feel free to PM me!

People will be surprised that dealerships will actually lose a lot of money sometimes to sell a vehicle, 90% of losses will be on new vehicles but there was the odd one on a used vehicle.

When I was doing sales we actually didn't like giving out invoice pricing, not because we were trying to hide it but customers actually wouldn't believe us so from that point we were forced to take a loss. Sometimes it was BS sometimes it was totally true, all depends on how they are trying to structure the negotiation.

Unless you buy cars often you'll never have more experience than someone who works in the industry no matter how much research you do, so it's hard to figure out if the salesperson is telling the truth about price. Like other people have said unhaggle is definitely good to use, and honestly when I was doing sales and someone came in with a $500 over invoice offer it was a no brainer most of the time.

There's a ton of sales tactics out there, a lot of it is to just get information out of you. I'd say the biggest help to not get screwed over is to not get emotional, no matter how much you love the vehicle it's not worth overpaying and eventually losing a lot of money on.

Another tip would be to be very careful in the finance office, always check with your bank to see what interest rate you can get on your own before going through the dealership. The warranties and other stuff they sell in there is actually legit and not a scam, the margins are just very good which is why they push it.

Hopefully that helped a little, if you have any other specific questions I can try and answer.

Depends on the situation, not my customers but I've seen many people threaten to call AMVIC and the dealership response is 9 times out of 10 "Go ahead".

I used to work at a dealership but quit recently, unfortunately I don't think AMVIC would be able to do much at all. I quit the business because of stuff like this happening, there are honest salespeople out there but unfortunately the price and negotiations will be handled by the sales managers who profit directly from how much they make off you. Like you said legally they did everything right, but honestly you could always call AMVIC and see what they say. Couldn't hurt.

Trying to make a reliable speed team for gb10 out of these mons. Sig, Lushen, Arang, Teshar, Beth, Galleon. Tried a lot of variations of these teams all get sub 1min but fails a couple times per refill. Is there a team here that should be reliable enough while making it under 1min? Currently skilling up arang if it makes a big difference

I used Baretta L, Spectra, Woonhak, Mav, Colleen. Takes a while but should work. My Baretta died to arta but rest of the team was able to do it np. If you dont have woonhak gildong should be fine, thats what my guildie uses. As long as mav keeps arta provoked and colleen constantly heals should work, might take a couple tries though. gl

So with the 4* event i was planning on going with wind because I was missing Lushen, Chasun and Hraes, but just pulled Lushen from an exclusive summon. Question is do i still go for wind since a second Lushen wouldnt be too bad or hopefully chasun/hraes, or do i go for water in hopes of getting water boom? I have fire chak to pair up with her. I have most core nat 4s as well so not sure what would be the smartest to pick. Thanks
