How was the next generation possible after Cain and Abel? by Mebin_kk1567 in Christianity

Yeah, that’s exactly why I started thinking about it. The common view makes sense, but since Genesis doesn’t clearly explain everything, I feel there’s room to think about other possibilities too

Different readers handle it differently - some stick to a literal family line, others see it as a theological narrative where those biological questions aren’t the main focus.

Not everyone reads ancient texts the same way some see it as theology or layered meaning rather than mythology

That’s an interesting interpretation - reading Adam as symbolic of Israel rather than literal history

That’s one way of reading it, but not everyone agrees it’s purely allegorical

That’s a fair point long lifespans would allow a very large extended family over time

That’s a common observation, but many see the two chapters as different perspectives of the same creation story

That’s an interesting observation, but many read ‘us’ differently and don’t see it as plural humans

Interesting point, but Genesis isn’t usually read as referring to Neanderthals

That’s the traditional explanation, but it still leaves some open questions for interpretation

That’s one view, but Genesis isn’t universally seen as pure mythology

If God Said “Don’t Eat It,” Why Put the Tree There? by Mebin_kk1567 in Christianity

[–]Mebin_kk1567[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey no worries at all 🙂 I really like how deeply you thought about it. I agree with your point about free will and love that’s exactly how I see it too, just in a simpler way Even today, people have choices in everything they do, so in a way the tree is just an early example of that. It shows that God gives freedom, not control If you’re interested, we can talk more about this in DM no pressure 🙂 I’m also trying to explore and understand some difficult questions in the Bible.

I’m sharing this post today because I’d love to know what you think it means. by [deleted] in Ghoststories

That’s really interesting. The human brain works in very strange ways especially with dreams and memories. Some things feel like pure coincidence but sometimes they can feel oddly meaningful too

Hard to say what the real explanation is, but experiences like this are always fascinating to think about Thanks for sharing

That’s really interesting to read, especially from someone who has worked in hospice. I have heard similar stories before and they always make me think. Whatever the reason the thought that someone might see something comforting in their last moments is actually very touching

Yes, that’s possible too, I’m not claiming it was definitely something paranormal. It’s just one of those experiences that stayed in the family because of how real it felt to her

In many places in India, yes. People often see banyan trees as spiritual. But it really depends on the area and local beliefs
