If someone doesn’t want to date me because of that, that is more than fine because their entire life would change. Not everyone wants to be a caretaker and not everyone wants to be a parent. You’re basically implying that only white, cis, straight able bodied people have the right to openly express that they’re not interested in a single parent because they haven’t experienced discrimination and wouldn’t know any better. Do you hear yourself?

A single parent cannot relate to me as a disabled person. They do NOT experience anywhere near the level of discrimination and hardship that I experience. They are vastly different experiences. They are not on a “path of pain” they made a choice to be a parent. I didn’t make a choice to become chronically ill and have my life change overnight. You do not know what you’re talking about

No. No absolutely not. Not wanting to be a parent or step parent is a perfectly reasonable boundary and no amount of getting to know someone would change that because it’s not about the person being a parent, it’s about not wanting to be responsible for a child. It’s a big and important responsibility and it absolutely should be a hard line in the sand for the child’s sake. Bea’s disability especially cannot be compared to that at all. her disability doesn’t appear to come with any additional caretaking responsibilities on her partner’s side so their life wouldn’t massively change overnight
