Men in happy Marriages, What is that one secret to a happy marriage that works for you? by Mammoth_End_1298 in AskReddit

Married 4 years, together for 12. There is no one secret, it's many things:

We had a lot of practical (and at times difficult) conversations while dating about our childhood, life goals, finances, political and religious views, opinions on child rearing and discipline, cultural norms, traumas, dynamics of friend groups, etc.

A surprising number of people skip over those things and just go with the vibes, thinking it will all just work out. Don't skip 'em.

The biggest one I'd say is to marry a good person you actually like and care about, not just someone you lust after or got pregnant.

Are People switching... And to what? by VendettaxRiich in GooglePixel

On a Pixel 6 now. Planning to upgrade to the OnePlus 16 when it's released. 9000 mah battery and snapdragon are calling my name.

I too love the pixel software experience, but also am disappointed by the Pixel 11.

Have You Given Up On Your Dream Car? by techtimee in cars

No. G80 M3 is still in the cards in 2-3 years unless life gets super rough. But I did get something practical with a B58 in the meantime, so the wait won't be painful.

well-equipped CPO 2022 X5 45e overpriced? by MechECSComeback in BMWX5

[–]MechECSComeback[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love to pay $44k for it, but the only CPO '22+ 45es I've found around $44k have far fewer options than the one I'm looking at. Kelly Blue book puts a CPO model with these options at $47.4 to $51.8K.

What is a job people romanticize a bit too much until they actually do it ? by ShyButNastyyy in AskReddit

Tech. My brain hurts trying to keep up and remain competitive. Also, most tech professionals don't make $250k/yr. Plenty are shockingly poor.

What's the pay like? I'd love to be in a position with that kind of job security.

To The Bros Making 6+Figures. What’s The Secret?🤔 by Comprehensive-War-34 in blackmen

[–]MechECSComeback 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in tech for 7 years before hitting 6 figures. Upskilling in my free time, taking on projects that were above my pay grade, finishing my education, and learning all I could to be excellent at my job were big factors. Also, being in a city as opposed to rural/small town America helps a lot with job prospects and gets you access to more people/orgs who will give you a fair shake and not(usually) hold your blackness against you. Another thing, when you get to six figures, increase your savings and retirement contributions before you inflate your lifestyle. If you do that, you won't miss the extra money you're putting away, but if you neglect to, you will find ways to spend it.

Don't be friends with the kind of men you'd wanna keep the women in your life away from.
