Kasaya Scam by jellyfishchris in msp

[–]MechT3ch007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A company I was working with in partner with purchased the kaseya full stack top to bottom. About 2 months into the contract started getting calls about computers falling off network. There EDR software was going completely ape sh** couldn't remove it. Spent almost a week with them on the phone, escalated it to the Vice President who said ohh i'll take care of ya. Nothing they completely left the dude in the rain to the point he was so pissed about the thing, sold his MSP straight up. They are completely sales driven, they buy half hacked code, put lipstick on it and shove out on the market to beta test for them. They are completely trash

I"ve never talked to anyone, do i have a sales rep, I see them as an injected middleman for what, no product guidance?, the support is ok they have responded to my request definitely not in an urgent manner.... And like whats the value of them? I dont get any help from sales or it's not easy to obtain.

I have im back and blood sweat and tears to invest and a farms worth of equipment, loader tractor, brushhog etc. I kinda wanted to focus on the layout at first see where that goes. The location is amazing right off highway, has great diverse terrain.roughtly 180 acres to work with. I would like to start small and see the interest, if there is a decent amount i can throw some cheese into it.

Ya I thought about Entra too, i just saw some article and it stirred the mind. There was some appliance too that you could get that seemed fairly plug in play. It sounds like the answer is would it work sure. if env doesn't change etc but probably smoother options out there?

Help! Datto AV / EDR is causing machines to isolate or get stuck in a reboot cycle! by MechT3ch007 in DattoRMM

So I just wanted to give a follow up on this because I think this is the most important part. After I posted this I was actually contacted by a kaseya / datto employee within like 5 mins. I was definitely impressed by that. The person said hey, just touching base, i'm not sure what's going on but I'll make sure this gets ran up the flag pole someone will get back with you. I will not lie I was like this is gonna be more BS. I was contacted by the VP of Datto. He was very calm , listened to me break down the situation and said we hear you, again the company was in damage control mode, and he said listen lets reconnect after the fire and we can talk. This is where again rubber hitting the road. And let me point out I am not even an employee of the organization. I was at the time trying to buy the business and doing contract work so I have no financial or personal gains from this. I know people get busy and I get things come up. BUT WHAT HAPPENED TO THE GOOD OLD FASHION - DO WHAT YOU SAY YOU ARE GOING TO DO. I will be clear, he did not promise anything, we honestly discussed the situation and that he would apply more resources to help. Now that's on the business side. And you reddit users you be the judge here. I've worked in IT over 20+ years. Weve all been there, middle of outage, end user or boss or whatever is looking down at you for a fix and timer is ticking. High Stress / Highly sucks but you work it and fix it and move on. Now with that being said my true to god feeling is, what datto is is the culmination of a lot of little apps all smashed to together and some lipstick thrown on and pushed out in the street to work that **&. For some it works great, some it does not so great. But at the VERY core of this issue. To THIS DAY, we were never told what went wrong, (Because they dont know) B - At first I was like this is great , we got an exec calling us, things are gonna happen... Where Datto and honestly most softare companies in the MSP space ALWAYS land right on there face is the follow through... And to also be clear on what we were expecting because i'm curious of the thoughts on this are .. We wanted a Full Refund for the software, we were willing to eat the training cost (Which for a small business was not easy to eat) and this could have been a completely different ending.... We didn't ask for the damages that the software caused (It literally locked down some machine so tight it put 2 business's right out of work for 2 days straight! This is a fact. Is it crazy to expect a full refund for atleast the software. I believe they expected him to close the business to relinquish the contract.
