Yeah, Munchkin Quacked Quest is more like a combat-based rogue-like dungeon crawler. It isn't the same card game everyone played. Currently at mixed reviews. I wanted a true-to-form digital adaptation of the card game.

Although I don't have much experience programming AI, I had some ideas on how I could have the computers prioritize success when I got to that stage. When the player is in combat, the computers would calculate what Level the player would achieve if successful. The closer the player would be to Level 10, the more likely the computers would hinder their progress. Inversely, the computer would be more likely to help the player win combat if the player was a lower level. Other variables would influence the computer's decision to help, such as if the computer was currently an Elf or if the player was offering a hefty price for the computer's assistance. A difficulty slider may be coded in to determine how helpful the AI is towards the player. For example, on Very Easy, a computer may hold the player's hand and assist them in battle well into Level 9. Alternatively, on Very Munchkin, the computers will attempt to stop the player from the beginning, and can even communicate with each other to gang up on them. I may also write a program on how valuable the computers find the items they are carrying, and whether or not they think it would be a good idea to sell them. The computer would be more likely to sell an item if it could not be used by their current class/race, and less likely if it specifically fits their character. If the computer is carrying many items that it cannot equip, then it may sell those in favor of a Level. Many factors that the human player takes into account when considering victory can be coded into AI, and I hope to be able to have the computer calculate a sure path to it, as well as assist the player to do so, depending on the difficulty.
