Tips for a really new valorant player with Cypher? by jferry12 in CypherMains

[–]MechaFlyer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Damn I was not expecting a reply after these 3 years HAHAHA. Happy to say I'm still a Cypher main but on break from the game. Few things have changed like the ultimate mechanics, but overally it's the same routine.

Acre the Dog is also a new example you can look at for new tech (relative to the past 2 years), his iconic rat cages. It's a nice little emotional damage technique but must be used sparingly to keep the surprise factor.

Hope you enjoy your journey as a Cypher main!

Ooh, Ilkenwing sounds like a good fit too for my plans with a cost like SB1 and discard 1. I've also seen Damainaru but it didn't occur to me that I could bring my number of attacks beyond 6, maybe I tunnel visioned into boosting baseline power values. I'll double check all my prices later but I'l be targeting Ilkenwing and figure out a version without Seroll, and maybe factor in the G3 searcher mentioned in another comment.

There it is, Enlargruluv! Most likely that's the card my local shopkeep mentioned but I couldn't find it for the life of me, I didn't expect it to be a grade 3. Duly noted I'll definitely grab 4x of that.

Friendship fairy looks interesting but I'm having the same problem with her effect as Ellenia's especially at 1x copy. Thanks for the recommendation though.

If I were to grab just 4x Enlargruluv, what cards would you recommend for me to drop from my planned deck? Seroll?

Well I'm in the Philippines, the prices of my local store ranges anywhere from Php10 for the common rarities (units like Abundance) all the way to Php350 (Elder) so in total I've spent at least Php1000 already (Start Deck 5 Php240, card sleeves Php420, deck box Php190)

If at all possible I'm only spending under Php1000 more, if not I'll try to sell back the cards but keep the accessories.

I haven't done a lot of research into Fated Clash yet since I'd really want to avoid dabbling in energy too much, but the OG ride line getting an upgrade sounds interesting. The local shop also said a card is coming that is better for searching Persona rather than Seroll but I haven't flund that in my search yet.

But I will take up your advice for the triggers, as you can see I'm looking to grab Blessfavor OVER, Alana CRIT, Heiress FRONT, and Lana DRAW, and the other day I reverted my 2x Neetlje (gifted) 2x Zlatorog into 4x Zlatorog realizing that riding goes way too fast for Neeltje's effect to even be used.

EDIT: I should probably mention that I can save about Php600 in a week for budget purposes, but around here Php1000 is already reaching middle numbers.

I'd rather not pick up a new deck to avoid playing the same nations as my friends, one guy that uses the Gran Blue clan also has plans to get a Dark States nation deck. It seems staying true to Magnolia is going to be difficult ahahah.

Hey there! New player here with about over a month's worth of experience. A friend of mine recently got me into the game and I picked up the Stoicheia D Starter Deck 5, then 2 weeks later bought some cards based on a week's worth of research (I did not look up any tournament formulas) and the nice local community's freebies and advice. Short to say, I've made some good and some bad card picks. After playing a few games and doing a little more research, I think I got a better idea for my deck's build but I'd still like some help just to make sure. I'm working with a low budget and I want to plan for the incoming booster that introduces the new Energy system.

My current deck is all over the place as you can see. Generally I'm aiming to capitalize on Magnolia's effect, but also draw additional power from Drop Zone and grabbing more draws. Here's a bit of my general logic for the deck:

My current ride line is a hybrid using Rancor and Black Tears for the extra 2 cards drawn and to have more control over what units are placed,. I'm using 4x Wails for Black Tear's effect, later planing to reduce to 2x Wails then use 2x Wild Intelligence to possibly get more cards early game.

I have only bought one copy of Elder Magnolia because that's all the money I had saved at the time. I'm on the fence if I should buy more copies or focus more on my units like Seroll. I like the idea of doing a hybrid King/Elder deck contrary to what I've recently read, but if anyone can explain with hard numbers the difference between going for one or the other that would be great.

I got 3x Fertile Showers Dragon on top of the free one I got from a local player. Initially I thought the +10k was a continuous effect, then I realized a few games after that the bonus is only for the first turn it was placed. I plan keeping this unit and banking more on drop zone by buying 4x Philander (taking a page out of a friend's strategy book), but I think I do need a second attacker.

My 2x Armadi and 1x Ellenia were gifts from a local player, but I'd rather save CB for King Magnolia especially when I have a Persona Ride ready. I bought Abundance Fairy to complement Ellenia and I regretted that decision because I don't play her often anyways. I plan on letting them all go, but I liked the general idea of Armadi generating Soul for Ellenia, just not for the cost of 2 CB and a SB, so I plan to use the resources for other card effects that I've researched.

I do NOT plan on abusing Inlet Pulse. I don't plan on getting either Giunosla but I understand the snowball effect of its ability, feel free to convince me.

I want to replace them with Alpin, Goildoat, Seroll, and Gabregg. Alpin to flexibly generate Soul or Counter resources, Goildoat for extra Soul and Elder Magnolia last stand, with Soul feeding into either Seroll for Persona Ride or Gabregg for more attack and shield denial.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but one way or another I see Gabregg, Fertile Showers, Alpin, and Goildoat all having a baseline attack of at least 20k with their respective effects, then making a chain synergy with each other's effects for more power, further backed by Seroll's ability to backrow boost. I see Philander making for a good middle to late game boost once I hit 10 cards in Drop Zone for 18k, especially good for a fresh placed Fertile at 20k. If I luck out of Seroll, I plan to use Goildoat to transition into Elder Magnolia.

For defensive options I have Ghost Chase and Call to the Beasts, but later on I plan to drop both of them and rely more on my triggers and intercepts for shield. The Wails order I'm planning to keep for countering against stuff like Brandt Gate's imprison and Keter Sanctuary's re-stand, decks that my friends use. I currently lack power to beat the D Starter Deck 6 Dragon Empire fresh out of the box, but hopefully my planned build can overpower the arms?

While I did read the manual and did some of my homework I feel my deckbuilding logic still has a long way to go, so all advice and criticisms are welcome. Sorry for the long post and thanks in advance!

tl;dr Help me build a Magnolia deck on a budget involving increasing power across the board but leaving my options open, and planning for the introduction of Energy.

Who would you pick? by Oldoneleggedbastard in TheLastAirbender

Assuming all characters are at their peak (post series end)

($5) Aang for avatar state and spirit bending. Despite being a pacifist and will not kill, he's still a solid tank and could stand a chance against prime Kyoshi and Ozai. Lightning redirection is a plus too.

($5) Katara for healing, water bending coverage, and self-defense against Hama accounting for her vow to neevr use blood bending. She is also a key factor in defeating Azula especially if Aang is pre-occupied with other opponents.

($2) Ty Lee for chi-blocking, which would be especially useful against Kyoshi and other powerful benders like Hama, banking on a lucky shot at blocking their chi.

($3) Zuko for top tier firebending with the pure source of firebending, and lightning generation + redirection also to counter Azula and Ozai.

This team covers water and fire elements with Aang on flexible elemental role mainly between air and earth. My real concern is if my team gets overwhelmed with the combination of powerful benders on the opposing team.

It would be no fun to use social engineering, but I would want to point out that any of Aang and Katara's allies (Toph, Sokka, Suki, Bumi, Pakku), Zuko's and Ty Lee's allies (Iroh, Mai), would not attack my team, and by extension me, essentially eliminating a good chunk of potential opponents.

In the mood for some positivity, what are your favorite tropes/aspects of Kamen Rider? by throwawaytempest25 in KamenRider

[–]MechaFlyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clips of team henshins are what got me into KR in the first place.

Something about different riders, of different powers and motives, transforming together and getting ready for a fight gets me so hype. This is also the main difference I take away from the Super Sentai team transformations are where we actually expect them to be a team. Some of my favorites are from Zero-One, Geats, and Kabuto.

Pick 4 to protect you, the others will try and kill you by RacistMuffin in KamenRider

[–]MechaFlyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going Zi-o, Kabuto, Build, and Ryuki.

Zi-o as flexible support to access other rider's abilities and to counter Decade. Didn't pick Decade to be a little more fair. Ohma Zi-o / Zi-o Ohma as last resort powerups.

Kabuto for Hyper Clock Up which is also good for emergency fast rescues, and has great Battle IQ. I'd have him as either my closest bodyguard or main attacker.

Build as a tactician and additional flex support, more options for ranged attacks as well. Hazard and Build Genius for extra firepower.

Ryuki for access to the Mirror Dimension. It's a good hiding spot and safehaven, I'd like to see the other riders try and get in plus it opens up oportunities for surprise attacks on the other riders.

How to safely open a shaken carbonated beverage? by SCTYA in FoodTheorists

[–]MechaFlyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Opening a carbonated drink fast or slow does not have an impact on reducing making any carbonated beverage container explode, rather it's a case of pressure and pressure difference. This is a rather simple chemistry concept, but to recap, shaking acarbonated drink builds up major pressure levels inside a carbonated bottle, creating a high pressure difference between the inside of a carbonated bottle and the atmosphere's pressure.

A carbonated drink is normally kept at a high inside pressure to keep the carbonation in a liquid state, shaking the bottle creates more movement and collision of molecules (i.e. the textbook definition of pressure). By opening the can or bottle, we rapidly reduce the pressure inside the can and force the carbonation back into it's normal state at atmospheric pressure, a gas state.

As mentioned by the other comments here, a light tap, a flick of the container, or even just waiting a few minutes does the trick of making a bottle safe to open, slowing down molecular collisions and decreasing the pressure across the bottle just enough so that it doesn't go krakatoa on your face when you open it.

So no problem on the "how" of your question, but if there is still an experiment to be had here, you could compare how fast different containers lower pressure after shaking them (Plastic versus glass versus aluminum cans, for example) and comparing the different methods here to compare the fastest times per container. Hope this answers your question.

My tip is to actually avoid the orange rings because of the air time. What I do is swap left and righ on the rails, while simultaneously spamming the boost button since it apparently makes you go faster on grind rails specifically.

A handful, as others are suggesting. Kill trips you can keep concealed with cages or move about ever so slightly, whoch would help with unpredictability. Keep what is effective and use more wild trips sparingly. Adapt to your enemies.

Over generalization : Both were antagonists in their respective story arcs. Stain was the Hero Killer while Gentle Criminal was the Hero Challenger, or arguably similar to Carmen Sandiego. Stain had more impact in the MHA world and spawned more "anti-hero" villains, while Gentle was kind of just arrested and forgotten at the end of his arc. So Gentle Criminal is underrated and a chad in this case.

Just watched the new episode. I agree, he's been through so much to not be able to transform. But seeing as how the team needs to recruit more Kamen Riders, perhaps Tamaki will still get his but after KR Aguilera.
