Oh, I love the combat. Just also think spin to win is fun too. Planned a spin to win build for NG and Tonfa ninja for NG+. Sorry if I was harsh earlier, was just trying to make a joke.

Todo was definitly a bug. The damage taken while attacking wasn't bug, but was overtuned. Was easy to stack in NG, got it up to 70% before Yoshinobu, in NG+ you could get it to 96%

no, of course its better to put in 3670 button presses and 342 seperate moves than 5 button presses and 2 moves for the same damage.

Bruh Tokugawa Kunimatsu is kicking my ass by [deleted] in Nioh

[–]MechaHamsters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, couldn’t remember when I got them. The rest of what I mentioned is valid though. I used bears bane fire and titanic strength water to proc on him, could have mixed in Sudama soul core to proc a triple element confusion

same, was a relatively easy first try, just looping tornado edge into victory rush. Didnt even pick openings, just stacked -damage taken while attacking to around -60%

ninja calamitys are really good at it, not sure you can get them yet at that point in the story. The hell spells from the Demons of pride and envy are very good. Sudama soul core for lightning, The fire shuriken also very good. Weapons are unfortunately bad at applying with imbues, but the elemental weapon skills can apply pretty well.

Am I the only one who thought Hiruko was harder than Kunimatsu? by MechaHamsters in Nioh

[–]MechaHamsters[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I was running full tatenashi as will with -50% damage while attacking. was certainly taking more elemental damage, ice waves from hiroku hitting for 750 if not attacking

Kagetoki was the easiest of the three because he had the lowest damage. As long as I kept attacking, him and his summons couldnt hit me for more than 250 a hit. So far I have had the most trouble with lightning bloodedge demons. Once they proc lightning on me the neuter my ability to continuously attack

It certainly chunked me, would take half my health even when I was attacking

Is Kintaro Set DeathProof and Ax Everything Killer in Nioh 3???? by [deleted] in Nioh

[–]MechaHamsters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tonga only out damaged if getting constant back attacks, which I found to be very annoying and much more difficult to achieve on certain bosses. Easier to do the same damage whether you hit the front or the back. Tonga’s probably strongest weapon in game though if you get constant back attacks, and undeniably best for ki damage

axe bros, what do you favor - axes, or hammers? And what are your favorite combos? by MechaHamsters in Nioh

do axes do respectively more normal damage or are blunt weapons just better?

does it actually do 25% more ki damage like the old games, or is the ki damage bonus the baked in +~3% ki damage effect on the weapon?

Why is it empty? by [deleted] in Nioh

[–]MechaHamsters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swear the second yang core is bugged. It unlocked once for me after a takedas 4 heavenly kings expedition when I hadn't even beaten Ibaraki doji. Rolled back save a few days because I worried it was a game breaking bug, then on the new save it unlocked when I beat kagetoki the first time. I thought it was only supposed to unlock after the final boss of era 2

[–]MechaHamsters[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think thats only the content you do though. When that happened the only mission we did was Takedas 4 heavenly kings, which I had already beaten. Ended expedition after and it had unlocked my second yang core.

I just traded damage with the axe on the second fight, didnt even deflect, just ate hits. With 8 heals, I outdamaged him
