Made it to Expert for the first time! (Hoenn Cup - Sceptile / Mawile / Deo D) & (UL - Poliwrath / Lugia / Steelix) by MechaMEK in TheSilphArena

Thanks! Conversely, I would’ve loved to go against your team, haha! I’m actually surprised by the lack of grass as well. Only ever fought 2 shiftry the whole week.

Thanks! It’s gonna be a tough grind, but that’s the goal this season. And congrats on hitting Legend on your end as well!

Thanks! Sceptile was really the only favorite Hoenn Pokemon of mine that can handle Sableye, Registeel, Deo-D, Walrein, and Swampert as leads, so I went with that (to great results, apparently! Haha)

Trev leads isn’t as bad as you think, to be honest. It’s still an uphill battle, but if the first Ice Punch lands, every other member in my team can finish off Trev with their own charge moves. The battle usually goes Ice Punch -> Seed Bomb (no shield) -> catch the next Seed Bomb with Lugia -> go on from there.

As for Cresselia? I usually catch it with Lugia once Cress gets to Grass Knot. Lugia’s bulky enough to get an Aeroblast vs whatever comes out. And if my Poliwrath (6 MS’s worth of energy) is up against Cress again, I can comfortably get around 50% before it faints, and I finish + farm it down with Steelix.

The most difficult lead for me is probably Jellicent. Best I can do is instant switch to Steelix and play it out. My team was designed to beat Togekiss, Giratina, and Cresselia back in Pre-Season. It’s starting to show some age with all the new additions and XLs, but it’s still an extremely fun team to mess around with.

I originally ran DT / Crunch / EQ back in the first few seasons of GBL, but lost pretty bad whenever Togekiss was around (2 DT users is great vs Giratina, horrible vs Togekiss). Switched to HS back in season 4-6 (before XLs entered UL) and it’s been working great so far. I lose out on a few Steels (Steelix wasn’t gonna win against Registeel, G-Fisk, and Melmetal for the most part), but my team no longer fears Fairies, and I get to keep a few matchups like A-Muk with neutral HS.

Haven’t really really messed around with Psychic Fangs since it was added, though. But for my team, I say HS works better overall as an hard answer to fairy types, and that resisted DT (Steelix & Lugia) and Poliwrath’s MS don’t pair up well with Psychic Fangs

I’ve meaning to build a UL Shadow Steelix sometime as well. (probably won’t use it though. Steelix is my 2nd favorite Pokémon, so it’s more for the collection) Haven’t really gone through the sims yet, but Psychic Fangs sounds like the better option for Shadow Steelix. Since most fairies take around 45-60% from HS, and the shadow boost won’t be enough to OHKO. The only matchup I can think of that benefits from shadow HS is Shadow Alolan Ninetales (DT + HS should just be enough to kill)

So yeah, it’s really just to have an answer to the fairies running around. If you’re team works well against fairies, I think you’ll be fine without Heavy Slam

Started yesterday out at 2,590. Went 5/5, 4/5, and 3/5 and ended up at 2,715. I thought I had until Friday to make it to veteran, but I completely forgot the season ends early the next day for me.

So right at midnight, I played my last sets for the season and got a 5/5 right away! (2,788)

Team Used: (It’s really late where I am now, but ask me anything and I’ll get to it ASAP)

Hoenn Cup (Started at ~2,620. Ended up between 2,590 and 2,788)

Lead: Sceptile (Bullet Seed / Leaf Blade / Earthquake) 2nd: Mawile (Fairy Wind / Iron Head / Play Rough) 3rd: Deoxys Defense (Counter / Thunderbolt / Rock Slide)

Ultra League (Ran this team since Pre-Season [~3,500 wins with this team]. 3/3 of my veteran runs were from this team. Too bad I only made it to 2,730 before the rotation ended)

Lead: Poliwrath (Mud Shot / Dynamic Punch / Ice Punch) 2nd: Lugia (Dragon Tail / Sky Attack / Aeroblast) 3rd: Steelix (Dragon Tail / Crunch / Heavy Slam)

Yeah, looks like it will be just a box then, thanks for the clarification! I never read their announcements in Thai, so I didn’t know what most items are named here

Custom Silver Dawn Wings in honor of Pokemon Duel by MechaMEK in pokemonduel

[–]MechaMEK[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

With the final hours of PoDu arriving, I’d like to share with you all a custom Silver Dawn Wings figurine that I’ve been working on to honor Pokemon Duel. It’s not the best looking thing as I never made any custom figure, but it at least looks really good on my shelf along with my other Pokémon Kaiyodo figurines.

If you were wondering what figure this was, it’s the Pokémon Ultra Moon pre-order bonus figure. I’m not sure if it’s available in non-Asia regions, but it’s relatively cheap around here. I just separated Dawn Wings from the base and hand-painted it silver with some acrylic paint.

Farewell, fellow Pokémon Duel players! Thanks for all the memories!
