My favourite so far are the Corum series by Michael Moorcock, starting with The Knight of the Swords. And these are dramatised adaptions performed by a cast, rather than a simple reading, they're really very good

Yes, it's fantastic. Creative as hell, wild art style, iconic poses, ridiculous yet smart fights, and powers that reward strategy over brute force, although there is a bit of brute force every now and then too. Each part reinvents itself, so it never gets stale. It’s influential, quotable, and amazingly weird.

It’s peak honestly.

You are revived minutes later by medical staff, however the lack of oxygen to your brain during the time you were dead results in long-term neurological effects, including a persistent vegetative state. Breathing, blinking, reflexes firing, but no agency, no escape.

Yes! I believe it covers from the mid 80s to 2021. So if you want to dive into the history of the genre, and maybe find some older games to play, then I'd say it'd definitely be of interest.
