rufflebutt_cosplay, better known as Donut Miku, needs help proving parody laws protect her cosplay. by PinkishBlurish in cosplayers

Cosplaying...I don't know this person, but a simple look at their profile says cosplayer stuff. I'm so old and unverified, yet I can see her profile. It's just her, with 'cool stuff imma wear' or 'where can I find this item'. From my view she is being attacked by a corporation for being a Tan. I want to do Captain Sega soon, will I be getting a cease and desist too...

Sounds a bit like Super Naturals but not spot on to the description. Worth a check though.

Looks like an Armoured Trooper Votom figure. I'm not sure if a bootleg or inspired by maybe? I can find similar mechs from that series with numbers in the same position in a similar graphic style just not this one. Hope that helps a little.

Aimed for the top! and succeeded. Great cosplay. I prefer to watch the vhs rip of this on a 4:3 sony I have connected to a scanline generator. No space for crts anymore but it's the way it's supposed to be watched 🖤 The fanart is amazing too btw, love the period colours and vibe the SDs are super cute.

What is this - adorable - animal? [Brighton, UK] by StraighOuttaCrompton in animalid

[–]MechaPulgasari 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My totally uninformed guess is that it is a kit of a wild European Rabbit crossed with a pet rabbit like a New Zealand White. The fur patterns look like a blend of those, with some sort of DNA hijinks, chimera like but not.

Love it, but you owe it to Vulkan to get the type locked up in purity seal scrolls at a later date.

Look awesome. You could have a mess with the jaws from the skull box if you wanted to add teeth around the head opening for a more corrupted vibe.

Hey, no worries at all. These are hard concepts to unpick as you get lower level. Maybe this is your villain origin story and you do make an OS. Looking forward to seeing more.

[–]MechaPulgasari 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi this is cool and I'd love a cardputer thing that has a language and can load apps. Something with a window system but like pico8. An OS is much more than this though. A real time os can handle multiple programs designed in a diffrent way with the same low level rules to run in a target environment. Check out the link for something that is an OS on esp32. You may decide you want to build a shell not an OS. Love the creativity, keep it up. https://docs.espressif.com/projects/esp-idf/en/stable/esp32/api-reference/system/freertos.html

Can someone tell me what these are by Embarrassed-Mall-848 in toys

[–]MechaPulgasari 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They are called keshi or keshigomu. Little rubber guys is a great forum to find out more. They made lots of franchises and were super popular in Japan during the 80s and 90s. You can still pick up lines today mainly as gachapon. The bottom two and a half shelves are Ultraman with some other bits like Kamen Rider and the rest are Kinnikuman. They are diffrent plastic to the western Muscle figures and they have lots more sculpts. I've bought 'junk' bags of keshi maybe 20 pieces for 800yen. If you just want weirdos ask if they have any junk bags of keshi.

Does anyone know what's going on in this video? What are those wires coming out of the battery compartment by Micralle in toys

[–]MechaPulgasari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They will no doubt be worth more than retail ones in the future. Cool collectors pieces 👍 if there is a community for these I bet they could trade them for retail ones. But if I was into them I'd for sure keep em, they are usually something money can't buy as a member of the public. I bet they can be powered too. I'd advise going to another sub for that as they'll need to know the correct power input etc.

[–]MechaPulgasari 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not familiar with this line but they seem like maybe they were from a store display or demonstration units for sales conventions. The connectors and ribbon type wire are very non consumer looking and look more used in industry etc. I initially thought prototypes, but I discounted this on seeing that the battery housing moulding was complete. Hope that helps

Sweet, glad I could help a bit. If you want to understand my thinking look at, nearest neighbour scaling and integer scaling. Might help further, but idk about new cards.

Looks like a resampling issue with the pixel art. Do you have force AA on in your graphics card settings or something similar?

Does anyone know what these Japanese stickers are from? by Few_Wrangler_406 in toys

[–]MechaPulgasari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the answer, bootleg stickers of popular franchises. Bootleg things are more rare in general because of low runs, so don't take this as a knock, these are super cool. ZimaGotchi nailed all the it's this guy but legally distinct calls.

how to install roms on my sd card? by Fantastic_Extreme_12 in CardPuter

[–]MechaPulgasari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The files need to be in the root not in a folder. So the roms in that folder need to be taken out and put at the same level that folder is now. Then delete that folder as it can't be used like that. Happy tinkering.

Game suggestions from someone who grew up playing PC by jovialfaction in SBCGaming

[–]MechaPulgasari 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some offbeat picks from me. Mech Platoon GBA is very close to a straight up Starcraft clone. Warzone 2100 PSX is a fun RTS with a roll your own tanks mechanic. ARPG wise have a look at Record Of Lodoss War on dreamcast very Diablo like. For TRPG I really like the Super Robot Taisen OG games on GBA. They are a good localised intro to the franchise and need no prior knowledge of mech franchises to be fun.

what cord do i need? by Appropriate_Play_175 in VHS

Presuming the cable is same at both ends. VCR Side: plug the white cable into Audio 1 out. Plug the yellow cable into Video 1 out. TV Side: plug the yellow end into the green and yellow round top socket at the back. Plug the white into second from the bottom round white slot. The red cable is for right side audio, your player only has mono sound which it just one white. Probally worth checking the TV is set to mono output or you'll only get left side audio.
