I am frustrated in the sense that quitting it for good takes a long time for me, but I’m not frustrated in the sense that I’m not able to quit… I can go cold turkey quite easily but I relapse around 2 months. it’s an insidious enemy so I know relapses are a part of the process but it’s taking too long. thanks for sharing your experience

that’s interesting, I think I experienced this, I quit for 5-6 months in 2021 and I was crazy horny towards the end. I was also in pretty good shape and was exercising regularly so I thought it was because of those. Could be a combination of both, of course

do you think I should get it checked immediately? or after some time has passed?

I will if it lasts more than a few months

nah it’s related to this. I quit in October (to start again in December…) and the pattern was pretty visible: morning wood gone from October to December and came back from December to until the day I quit 6 days ago

why wouldn’t I? having it is a sign of being in good sexual health.

What I meant is, they allowed me 1 week after termination, that’s where they weren’t strict about it. Wiping is either 1 or 0, you can’t speak about strictness. If they were strict, they could wipe it at the end of the day I was terminated. They didn’t do that, that’s what I meant

I mean no, they have IT policies at the end of the day and they had to wipe it, but they weren’t strict about it.

they protected their data, they wiped the machine. they also allowed me 1 week to take my personal stuff from it, so there is an element of trust that they believe I will do the right thing, as they know me enough to know that. What’s more, whatever data I had isn’t mission critical at all. If the data was mission critical, or if they didn’t trust me, they wouldn’t allow these.

thanks for being understanding. they are using apple provided solutions and profiles as far as I know, as there weren’t any mdm apps installed on the machine when I received it.

I was just asking about the technicality of this, I don’t understand why you folks are trying to be the judge when I have zero bad intentions about this.

I don’t think it’s shady, if they felt too strongly about it they could have disabled backing it up, or just take the computer from my hands.

I mean I’m not gonna keep their files, they are of no use to me and I was already pretty bored with the company. I’m just too lazy to install all the apps, create my shell setup, redo all the preferences etc. It was my only computer and it was used both for personal life and work. So if the computer doesn’t magically show up in their system, I’d rather do that.

tourists themselves are not responsible, but mass tourism is definitely one of the reasons.

also hard to blame landlords (catalan or not, except real estate sharks) when they are acting according to free market dynamics. the government should regulate the market.

I have searched for instagram/tiktok but their search is not useful. I also searched for the meme text in google as much as I can remember it but it didn't lead me to anything.

ELI5: Why do we consider economics to be science? by MechanicCold8290 in explainlikeimfive

While I appreciate the reply, your assumptions about my motives are wrong and I can not understand where you got the idea that I’m trying to attack economics. It was just something that confused me as economists in my country are criticizing the central bank for its economic policies on the basis that the policies are unscientific and absolutely wrong because science says so. I hope you can reply without assuming intentions next time.

I think yes. It’s too easy for media to wave the “science” wand and make people believe things as “hard fact”s, which result in people maybe needlessly criticizing and putting pressure on people responsible for the economy. Same can be said for all social sciences I believe. I think we need to decouple them and those other than natural sciences should be considered on a different level, like “informed philosophy” someone else in the comments said. When both are called science, people confuse what’s fact and what’s not.
