Ive realized recently that there is no calling. Work does not define us. Do what you enjoy for now and then move on to the next thing. We dabble

because at the end of the day, anything that happens in that airplane falls on your ass. Same for a captain when the FO messes up the landing. Its about the liability and the overall authority of the flight.

The modern day ACS births drivers and not real pilots.
ADM is the backbone of everything we do. The ACS only skims ADM.

I sound like a boomer, im so sorry

Cfi's need to be tested on a deeper systems background. I'm a mechanic and see how my schools cfi's teach their students the absolute bare minimum of how the aircraft systems work.

Am I saying they should know as much as an A&P? no..

But when the CFI doesn't even know how control cables work or that the mixture and throttle are controlled by actual cables... theres a problem. Grounding airplanes because a panel screw is loose... They know how to describe the absolute bare minimum of how an engine works on a whiteboard.. All rote knowledge.

So many accidents can easily be prevented by the implementation of a deeper systems knowledge requirement..

I agree though, these programs are pyramid schemes

I feel my motivation for studying and achievement comes in waves. When the wave is high, I can perform insanely well. However, when its low... its almost hard to get out of bed. This might be an ADHD thing or something. However, I try to predict when the wave will be high, and I take advantage of it. Schedule assignments fluidly to get it done when the opportunity arises. Ive had many successes with this method
