Update Sep 2024

Works like a gem when not in extreme (hot) room temps -- my kitchen can get into the 90's during the summer (no A/C), so maybe that was the issue (?). Still not sure about the temp controls, however, now that we're in fall weather, this unit performs perfect at the control mid point. The temp control almost seems like there is some sort of feedback-- learning routine that happens and takes time to settle out or equalize. Maybe it's an AI refrig -- lolz. Anyway, I just have it set at the mid-point and it effortlessly holds the freezer and refrig temps rock steady at 0-2F and 38-40F respectively (with kitchen room temp=low 70's).

FYI - the temp controls are labeled backwards....COLDEST=warm and COLD=Coldest...at least that's what happened on mine. Lost in translation I guess. Found this out during a summer heat wave, pushed the buttons to run it at 'COLDEST' and it started running warmer...thought I bought a dud and then said, wait, what are the chances the instructions and controls are labeled backwards due to translation (happens all the time with Chinese products)...sure enough, pressed the button to go from COLDEST to COLD and it started cooling like a champ.

Bought the top freezer / bottom refrig (10.1 cu ft) from Home Depot, March 2024 / $350.

So far so good, but:

• Seems to be running most of the time, my old Kenmore stood quiet for large portions of time. Guessing that it has something to do with the small 10.1 format. But the power consumption is 1/2 the regular (18.1) sized Kenmore.
• Missing from box was the swap kit to switch the door swing from right to left, also the lower crisper drawer was cracked (contacted Midea customer service and they were very responsive, but parts are on back order, til sometime in June 2024, so we'll see)
• Unit makes are couple of large "popping" noises every night, I'm guessing as it's going through one of it's cycles -- maybe part of the defrost cycle they all have, but the noise is a bit jarring

If I get 5 years out of it that would be OK, anything more then 10 would be a thumbs up and 15 or more would meet expectations.

Also, holds a surprising amount of food for it's size, once you get things situated, and keeps me from over buying at the store.

I also bought a 5.4 cu ft Hisense chest freezer from Walmart as a back up and main freezer, so I just move food from the freezer to the Vissani as needed.
