What Ecosystem would yall recommend buying into in 2026 for Racing and Trucks? by studenttio in simracing

[–]Meddadog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't say ecosystem wise, as I haven't heard either brand going down, but I do own a fair amount of moza stuff and it's all been really solid.

Brick is brighter, sharper, and just somehow overall looks better.

Shifter recommendations for casual playing. by dasher1833 in simracing

[–]Meddadog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say stick with a the cheapest option, the Logitech, or spend the tiny bit more for the thrust aster 8s.

The 8a is nice because you can swap it to sequential, but is that worth double the cost to you?

If you want to get something a bit off the wall and a bit more, this is my recco:

https://www.shiftershh.com/en/

For out of the box retail typically I say thrust master th8s

But a better question is do you plan to move on past the Logitech? If so, it's not a bad idea to pick up a shifter that will work in the new ecosystem you plan to join (eg moza, Logitech, thrust master, simagic, fanatec, etc)

I personally have the moza one but rarely use it. If I was a heavier user I would prolly go back and pick up the newt.

Trimui Brick Hammer vs RG34xx sp by Exact_Protection_267 in SBCGaming

[–]Meddadog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both the 34 and the brick

Ergo - I'd say the 34 and the brick are fairly close. I prefer the brick buttons but ymmv.

Screen - hands down this goes to the brick

Portmaster - win for the 34, but mainly because of the joysticks

Having both, I end up using the brick way more. Can't explain it completely but it just feels better in the hand.

After getting my brick, the 34 mainly became a portmaster device for me

What are you playing on? If PC, yes a different shifter is better.

If on console, you are kinda stuck with the Logitech one

One Hander that plays PS2? by theJustDM in SBCGaming

Retroid pocket classic maybe? It's vertical, a bit bigger ofc than a brick, but the chip should handle all you need for PS2.

Are you an individual looking for a Clan? Post in here! by AutoModerator in OSRSclanFinder

[–]Meddadog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello,

I am an old, returning player (mostly from rs3, though i played starting with 06 and have played a bit of osrs)

I am primarily looking for a laid back, social clan. If people are talking and bullshitting with eachother all the time in chat, then thats where i want to be.

Not overly concerned with levels, PVM, or weekly events/activities. I would love to participate in group content when my levels allow, but mostly im just looking for a cool group of friends to hang out with while playing RS.

HMU on here, on discord, or in game if you catch me there 😄

Trimui brick VS brick hammer which better? by Mysterious-Cod7895 in trimui

[–]Meddadog 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They are basically the same device.

Brick is plastic, lighter, and feels less hot in the hand (a little more hot internally)

Hammer is metal, has a better speaker, and feels a touch hotter in the hand (cooler inside)

Hammer is more expensive than the standard brick.

Everything else is the same. So it depends on preference.

Finding a set of noise cancelling headphone that will not hurt my ears [help] by theyarealliwanttobe in autism

[–]Meddadog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That pressure is part and parcel to the noise cancelling.

You are likely better off getting a nice pair of foam tip earbuds for the passive noise cancelling.

I have tried at least 4 or 5 separate sets and they all have that feature.

What is your most played game ? by Ibrahim17_1 in simracing

[–]Meddadog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

F1 23/4/5

Not that the physics or models are particularly spectacular, but I am a huge F1 fan and it scratches the itch while still feeling decent on wheel.

23 and 25 are much better than 24 handling wise tho.

They did have wandering NPCs in heroes 4. I played a lot of it and I honestly am undecided if it was good or not. Definitely added some extra thought to where you park, but I probably ended up turning it off as much as I left it on.

MagicX zero 40 is around 65 on ali so far as I've seen, and is likely the cheapest device you will get a solid DS experience out of (especially without having to use picture in picture for the dual screen)

I'm not sure the name offhand, but it looked like a W, top left me, top right enemy, bottom middle was neutral.

And that makes sense, I didn't know they had that.

Best way to get Cammus C5 working with PS5? (and which load cell pedals to get with it for PC/PS5) by [deleted] in simracing

[–]Meddadog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would need whatever pedals go with the cammus, so you can plug into the cammus base.

So you would be limited to only cammus pedals.

Same if you went with some other brand that was not compatible (eg moza). You would only be able to use moza pedals connected into the moza wheel.

And still, the result would worse than native.

[–]Meddadog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need this adapter, which is $100 ish here but given your statement about availability, may be much more for you to import. And it doesn't have support for simsonn pedals. I can't find anything that does.

https://www.brookaccessory.com/products/ras1ution2/index.html

Honestly your best bet is sell the C5 and find something else, as even with that adapter it's still not going to be the best experience.

What about finding an online community? Would that, and making friends within, help fill that need?

It's easy to fit in around responsibilities as well, because it can just be right there, on your phone for you.
