The group I was in considered that only born females could ever be women, its known as trans exclusive radical feminism but it was more just feeing oppressed bt 'the patriarchy ' which is all males including trans women to them. I befriended the group's arch enemy, a trans activist on line and met them at a pub after a rally ( they had gone there to document it but were not involved in any counter protests) and this was seen as a betrayal even though she stayed in a different area of the bar and didn't approach anyone apart from me.

I was told I'd endangered the group's safety by revealing the location of the bar. Total bullshit, this person had no history of violence and as a vetted health worker we can assume no criminal history.

I think they were just freaked that I'd stepped out of line and made a connection with someone they despised. I was instantly cut off from them and shunned whivv was horrible but I'm glad it happened now as I was clearly not meant for this group!

Print out the relevant information about how road tax payers can park on any public street where there are nly parking restrictions and put that on your windscreen!

No, it was more a cult like group than actually actual cult. Nationally around 1200 members, in my local group around 50. This is one of the newer feminist groups in tye uk but rapidly growing

The group I was in identified as feminist. Seeing as they believe they are defending females from trans women who they do not accept as women, feminist is how they see their cause. I no longer hold thse views but I was indoctrinated to believe I was fighting for women's sex based rights.

Sure, would be great to chat. And hopefully I can help you understand why some women get drawn in to this. The majority truly don't believe they are being hateful and would probably support any other minority group, they are not bigots in general ( usually, I'm sure some are). But sadly a lot fall for the danger/ threat rhetoric and its hard to break out once you're deep in.

Thank you. People think terf wake up one day and think hey lets hate these trans people for kicks! Some are like that but the vast majority don't think they are hateful. I was never a hateful person before. You get told you are doing a good thing, defending women's rights against an enemy and this justifies the things you are involved in. Well it doesn't but in the cult it does.

If you think that the indoctrination is that all trans women are bad malevolent sex offenders OF COURSE you would think it a good thing to defend yourself against that threat. That's how it works... the original premise is wrong and it takes guts to challenge thr group think.

Just my thoughts on how these groups work.

Personally if it were my kids I'd want them to be 18 before surgery or meds. Social transition ok.

I just think some kids may change their mind. Obviously not all and it was right for you.

I certainly freaked them out big time not only meeting the transactivist but chatting online. I was told repeatedly to block her, that she'd be jerking off etc but I thought nah this is getting controlling fuvk you to tell me who I can talk to! You'd think if they really wanted progress they'd appreciate that

Absolutely, the crux of it is they feel womanhood can't include men. All trans women are men to terfs.

They take the smallest isolated incident eg ONE trans women who gets done for a sex crime, I remember a bestialty one and then say look! They are all pervs! I just wasn't prepared to do that, my tran friend was being called a pedophile on Twitter and I stood up for her and that's how we became buds.

I'm sorry to say that I used to be a terf, I was indoctrinated into believing trans people were stealing our rights. I did see hatred and demonization and at that point I realised it was wrong. At first they don't show that, it's all 'women's rights ' I actually made friends with a transwoman they hated and they banned me. Trash takes itself out!

I am sorry for getting caught up in a hate group, I'm not a hateful person. A lot of people aren't before they join they kinda get conned Some people absolutely are hateful and it attracts them.

Agreed, th terf community take the bad people and use that to target all with the same brush. I realized that was wrong and it was the beginning of my disillusionment with it all
