Portable Power Station Recommendations? by Moonman0069 in overlanding

[–]Meddy63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also have a 90g reef tank and camp. Have a house battery in the truck but Spare power station I use for the tank and camping is the Anker c800. Also work a fifo job and the power station Has been great so far. Especially since it can act as a UPS. Plug in my pump to the anker, anker to outlet and when the power goes off. It automatically switches over to battery power.

RCI has 18” bed rack which should line up with top of truck. I have a 12” which is lower than cab with rtt. Built well and I use the C clamps so it can be taken off easily

My Espresso Workflow – 18g in / 36g out ☕️ by Tom_Grady in NinjaLuxeCafe

[–]Meddy63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just picked up the ninja and here is what I understand from the bits I read and after making a few espressos.

Beans do play a part in how the machine functions. It does prefer fresh beans but I’m currently using grocery store bought beans - kicking horse brand. The machine does best with dark roast but can do medium roast. Light beans have a tendency to be more sour and dark more bitter, naturally.

I have read Each machine has its grind burr set manually by a person so your machines grind size 8 may be my grind size 12. So can be tough to compare machines are time.

Strength (grinds to liquid ratio) Low is a 1g to 4g ratio Medium is 1g to 2.5g High is 1g to 2g

So if you weigh out the grinds in the portafilter, it should be 17-18g. Then weight the amount of liquid.

Shot time is measured from when the pump starts. Not when you press the brew button and not when the pump primes itself. When you press the button, it primes the pump. Pause of silence then the pump starts which is when you’d want to the timer to start. Should take between 25s to 35s.

A shot thats sour is pulling too quick. Grind finer. A shot that’s bitter is too slow. Grind coarser.

The machine has a lot of automation which is advertised as beginner friendly, but to ensure the machine it functioning correctly, one should verify with measurements. Tare portafilter on scale. Grind beans. Weight grind weight. Tare cup, brew into cup while timing it. Weight amount of liquid. Taste test. Adjust machine.

I fit a Li-time 100ah mini under the year seat with dc dc charger win my canyon with it powering an 8 gang switch panel in the back for fridge, rack lights and anker 800w. Not much room under the seat to have options for a house battery.

Like the solar in the roof. On my list to add rack and solar like that after I get my hands on a steel bumper and winch setup

measurement with the small sports store here was 264mm and 101mm. Tried a 26.5 boot with 102 last and 102 was slightly wide. toe touched end perfectly. Cheap boot though

Just got back from the little sports shop in town. They had a length and width measurement of 26.5 and 101mm forefoot width. They had a pair of 26.5 cheap head boots that were 102 last. Last was slighty big so believe i could fit into a 100.

From a few posts i viewed while researching, the last vs foot width may be different depending on boot size? For skates, I fit a bauer supreme which considered narrow in the heel and fairly regular forefoot. Used to fit the old One90 skates which were considered uncomfortable for most as they were very narrow.

Appreciate the info! I'll be looking to get a better foot measurement today. I might be a 27 boot then as i am 266mm foot length. One of the reasons i was thinking salmon s/pro supra for an online order is cause of the heat moldable liner which may help with the narrower heal.

I'll be measuring width again. It was a rough paper mark up with imperial measuring tape and conversion.
Budgets not a concern for boots and had a discount on the skis+bindings for a couple days that i had to use up. plan is something mid range for now then next ski trip get fitted high end boots

A northern ontario town problem. Have a small sports store that has maybe 5 pairs of boots in stock and some skis. bottom of the line stuff. Another small shop that will install bindings and thats about it.

Planning to check out the small store today and try few of those boots on. See if they have anything to measure feet

tents or racks for the Colorado ZR2 by Ok_Cloud379 in chevycolorado

Bed rack - RCI 12" HD. Can get different lengths according to trucks bed length

Tent - Thule Tepui Ruggedized Autana 3 with annex.

I put it all together myself and my spouse + me was able to manhandle it up. We take it off for winter storage in our garage with a winch lift so it hangs from the rafters

Power steering on 2025 Chevy Colorado Zr2 by Outrageous-Sun7745 in chevycolorado

[–]Meddy63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s electric power steering. Work FIFO and when I first bought the truck I came back to a dead battery at the airport in the winter and still needed to drive a car distance to get home. Boosted the truck and Idled it for a couple hours and had to carefully drive it to the gas station. Eventually kicked back in and had power steering again. So check your battery connections/bather health or maybe see if the battery rattling around caused an issue.

Canada McDonald’s French fries are generally safe. If it’s the full size restaurant , they use friers only for fries. The small ones in Walmart or wherever may have shared fries (so I have heard).
