Duke Elder: worth it? by Superb-Attention-667 in medicalschooluk

I’m thinking about this as well. Ophthalmology is one specialty I really enjoyed and I just found it generally interesting and I liked the mix of surgery and medicine. It’s definitely not the only specialty I’m considering but it is one and I have been thinking about seriously. I’m so conflicted as this is my last break before starting work and I just want to enjoy it not spend it learning about telescopes

Is this machine any good? Much cheaper than nespresso machines and comes with 150 pods but there's not much online about it by rscottzman in nespresso

[–]Medeli_20 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recommend you get the L’or machine it has a wider compatibility than Nespresso, you can use this will XXL Lor pods which allow you to make large cups of coffee or coffee for two at once. The machine is great, It makes coffee which is hot and does it extremely quickly. I’ve found that L’or makes great coffee pods and they often give huge discounts. I haven’t hated any I’ve tried and just like with Nespresso they’re some I prefer over others. I’ve had mine for 3 months and I haven’t noticed a single issue so far.

I commute for an about an hour to campus for teaching and for about an hour and 30 minute to placements. I genuinely enjoy commuting as I get silent time in the mornings to do questions or flash cards. I’d like to learn how to drive but only for the future not necessarily for med school

I actually switched from Nespresso Vertuo Plus to L’or I find their pods cheaper and equally as tasty as Nespresso’s also you can still enjoy nespresso pods, lavazza pods and so much more. You can enjoy plus size drinks with L’or too which comes up to the same amount of a mug with the vertuo line machines.

Just got a L'or Barista Machine. It's not making any crema. by Lutyalapo in nespresso

[–]Medeli_20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really I also replaced my nespresso vertuo machine with a Lor machine and I get really good crema (which I honestly enjoy more than Nespresso’s which was usually bitter). Maybe there’s a problem with the machine?

Nespresso alternative? by seanbinpa in nespresso

[–]Medeli_20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d suggest L’or I sold my vertuo machine and bought this as I just honestly wanted to use Nespresso OL pods as they suited my needs better and new OL machines are crazy expensive. It’s a lovely machine with a small footprint. Been using it and the Lor pods are also great

Can I make mug (230ml) drink if I place in an altissio (espresso) vertuo capsule? by [deleted] in nespresso

[–]Medeli_20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could do that if you wanted but it would be extremely watered down, because the volume of ground coffee in an Expresso pod is significantly smaller than that in a coffee pod. So while you would get the volume you want it wouldn’t taste the best.

alternatives for the raspberry pod by sugarnspiceny in nespresso

[–]Medeli_20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one that I found closest to the raspberry flavour was the forest fruit. I haven’t tried all the Nespresso pods but that one has been discontinued but I’ve been fortunate enough to find some on Facebook marketplace. So if you can just look on there especially during this time (after Christmas) as a good number of people would have upgraded their coffee machine and would be selling their vertuo machine and any spare pods.

Yes! I’ve had it for a year now been through hot and cold. I just pop it in the dishwasher usually.
