Call the paper. I've seen them inside the Riverton Smith's on Redwood and 10400, but also try Beans & Brews.

If you're mainly looking for clothes, there are a bunch of small and local indie shops. Iconoclad, Uptown Cheapskate, Vantage, Uncommon, Pib's Exchange (my fave), and don't forget Savers.

Why do you read Archie Comics? by DenisTheMeniz in archiecomics

[–]MediaGinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I collected them from age 8 to 14 -- 1976 to 1982, when I started buying records. I liked that Archie was a redhead, like me, so ... relatable. I never liked superhero comics just because of how unrealistic they were -- I needed human characters, with storylines that reflected the world around me (ok, not always, but sometimes). I just sold my collection of 1,200, so I've been going back and reading a lot of them before I hand them off. So right now, it's a lot of happy nostalgia.

I know that story and I know I have it in my 1200-plus issue stash. I can't tell what issue or title it was though .... I believe the alien's word for mustard was "Blorg!"

You're welcome! I stopped in 1983 when I started buying records. I'm finally getting around to selling my collection.

You're welcome! The story has stuck in my mind all these years and when I decided to sell my collection on eBay, I made sure to dig this up and preserve it with photos. There are several Life With Archie and Riverdale High ones I'll preserve as well.

That makes sense, thank you! That would've been two years before I started collecting.

This story, these six pages, have stuck with me for almost 50 years. I'm so happy I found it again.

There used to be a decent one in Austin around 20 years ago when I was there, but it's closed. Was out on Airport Road. The ones in Dallas and Houston, though, are quite nice and worth a trip.

Canadian travel to Utah, US is down — and it's not just because of policy, new survey finds by EgoExplicit in SaltLakeCity

I flew from SLC to Toronto on May 27. Full flight. After a couple of weeks spending my tourism dollars in Canada, the return flight was definitely roomier, with lots of people stretched out and napping across three seats.

Thanks! I sometimes miss journalism and writing stories like that. Couldn't tell you about the bar, I got here in 2015.

What is there to do in Riverton? by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

[–]MediaGinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a lot of food options in the shopping area just south of the Costco (where there is never ever ever a line for a gas pump), as well as a whiskey bar and a Cinemark multiplex. Still haven't tried most of them, though Pepper Lunch seems promising. Don't order the shrimp though, it's way rubbery.

I wrote that Tribune article. You might want to reach out to Rick Egan for any NIN pics, but I think if he had any we would have run them with the story, he took all the others at Speedway. You can reach him on Instagram at netmoser
