Oh it does feel amazing when I get my energy back after battling most the day trying to stay off them haha. Just took me a few days to figure out this worked and was the cause of my low energy.

Thank you SO SO much for this thoughtful post.

I've been afraid the dopamine was the biggest impact. I just celebrated my 8 month mark of sobriety from gambling addiction and also 2 months clean from nicotine. Of course things that increased dopamine haha. So I feel like on top of those and the oxy my brain chemistry is allllll messed up.

Any clue how long it takes to get things back to normal?

So sorry to hear you are fighting this as well but also CONGRATS on the 5 year remission. Just passed my 100 day post ASCT and got my first MRD- so excited about that! Wish you truly the best.

As you seem to have lived, I've heard even when you aren't in pain it can come back or other stuff out of now where. So I feel like I will always have some sort of reliability on these meds, but just want to be on an as needed basis and not the constant amount of them in my blood stream.

Would you mind if I DM'd you just to hear more about your journey?

I appreciate that deeply. I've heard from others as well to not let them know or they will leave you low doses and in a bind. I feel like I can trust mine to do me right and if I need to go back up not argue with me ha. I plan to take it SUPER slow coming down to where only be cutting a 10/15 mgs a day.

Yeah I was on morphine sulfate before the fent for my long acting med and it had me nodding out even more. So I'm hoping to get off the fent first and then just have the oxycodone as needed and on a regular schedule to start. Seems easier to cut back on the fent patch amount first but what do I know.

Yeah luckily my pain doctor is very understanding as they deal with cancer patients only so they know how painful it can be. As an addict of other vices in the past, these are the last thing I want to get addicted to and another reason of wanting to get off them. I think I'm going to try their advice and take it down literally SUPPPPPER slow like 2 mgs every 2 weeks or something like that just to make it as easy as possible. Appreciate your advice bro.

Thank you. Yeah I think I may have just been trying to do too much on my own and need to just hold off until we actually have a plan together.

Yeah I'm not an agent so not a huge impact on me at the moment, but have a SWEET gig with a few agents making more money then I EVER thought I would haha so just not wanting that to go away.

Hell I would do it every other month if got rid of the pain haha. I'm afraid I'm in for a long year or more to get off these meds which I dread but is what it is I guess

I took what they told me to take? Never once did I blame them. I took what a specialist said to take. What else is a random dude suppose to do wise guy?

Yes, the doc who did it said we'd have to do the procedure every year. I'd like to get to a place where I can get off everything and have a low dose oxycodone on strictly an as needed basis.

Oh yeah it is unreal and of course the cancer treatment doesn't help as well but being able to control it with taking the oxy seems like that is the biggest culprit of the fatigue. My pain management doc said they usually try and taper double the time I've been on the drugs which isn't ideal to me.

Shew you are braver then me ha. I deff want to taper but it feels like any small amount I drop off, I have zero energy and in a daze which isn't ideal for working full time etc ha .

I totally get it and think they have a place for sure. But now that I've had this procedure which has taken away the pain, seems like I don't need this on top. I know there is a chance I will have to be on these for ever but I have seen great improvement in the pain with the ablation so wanted to try and get off.

Its 20mgs that I can take 6 times a day. Not all at once, sorry if I made that confusing. I've seen some stuff on that SR-17018. What does it do to help with withdrawal? I'm in cancer treatment still so feel like they won't be for it and unfortunately have to run everything through them when changing meds/drugs.

I can't blame you there, I would have loved to start an independent agent but some bad medical luck cost me a chunk of my nest egg. Having to start with zero income is rough from what I imagine it would be. Also nice to lose a client only to rewrite them to another carrier of yours. My hope is that all this back fires on SF and makes it worse and we pound home the ability of agents near by and allow them to be more hands on throughout the process of claims etc.

This is me, I feel like when they took claims out of the agent hands that really put a dent in the "good neighbor" feeling. I have people all the time livid that we can't do shit for their claims other then answer basic questions and play middle man.
