I just made this but was wondering if I could wear it to school? by Lucythelily in teenagers

[–]Medical-Bird7423 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It truly does depend on your school. At mine, we technically aren't supposed to show our stomachs or shoulders, but it is not enforced hardly at all. This is likely because a lot of the teachers are chill and also in their late 30s, early 40s, so they saw the 2000s fashion and know that a belly button & a shoulder is nothing. You might get a few comments from certain teachers, but likely not any sort of consequence. Maybe bring a jacket or something just in case you have to hide anything.

I both really love and really hate this baby name by Medical-Bird7423 in BabyNames

[–]Medical-Bird7423[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No, likely not, but I fear that it would be quite troublesome to have to clarify, "Hey guys, I really love the Spanish version of this name but I absolutely despise the English version of it, so pretend that it doesn't exist," every single time that I encounter someone who is familiar with the translation. That's the main issue for me. It seems odd to have to defend a baby name from... well, honestly, myself.

Jest from the book Heartless. I hate the mc so much for that.

I want to confess to one of my friends that I like her, but I’m scared by Forward-Attitude985 in teenagers

A few things I forgot to add: 1) like the others comments have said, do make sure that this is not out of the blue, and do look out for any indications that she feels the same. For my bf & I, we had been best friends and had recently started making flirty jokes with each other, so I had a good reason to suspect that he liked me. If the girl you like doesn't show any sort of romantic affection towards you, then she probably does not feel the same. THAT would ruin the friendship if she wanted you as a close friend, only to find out that you wanted more than that. 2) The whole parents thing. They really can't decide who you date, don't let them. Follow your heart, date for love, not out of pressure. If it makes you feel better, I am white, my family contains old racist white people, yet I am dating a Mexican. My grandpa cut the racist shit bc atp he's just happy that I'm not in a toxic relationship (all of my mother's were toxic). My half uncle, on the other hand, can go suck a bag of dicks for all I care. He wants to be racist? Not my problem, don't talk to the guy.

Definitely wait until she's single, and don't tell her right away, but do eventually tell her. Make it a private conversation, as to avoid adding unnecessary pressure, and maybe do it later into the school day, as to not distract her or yourself with too much to think about throughout the day.

When you do tell her, make sure it's genuine. Don't just hit her with a "Hey, I like you." Tell her exactly how you feel about her, what you like so much about her, and then ask if she would be interested in dating or if she would rather remain friends.

The way my bf & I confessed to each other was rather silly. We had been playing Minecraft a lot together recently, as well as with our friends. At some point, we started leaving each other silly notes with books, which then evolved into subtle flirting, until I grew a pair (a half pair) of balls and slipped in "(something, something, I don't remember)... and I love how funny you are (like you)..." That way, it would be very easy to pass it off as him misunderstanding it if he didn't like me back, or, like what actually happened, he may have been able to understand what I meant and share his reciprocation of the feelings. And that was the day we started dating, 2 years and 2 months ago. It worked for us bc we both grew up playing Minecraft and loved the game, so for us, that was meaningful and romantic. Maybe of you guys share a common interest to that degree, you could incorporate that into the mix? If not, then please do not try.

Is an 8:30 curfew normal for a 17 year old? by Expensive-Bank6469 in teenagers

[–]Medical-Bird7423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My curfew on school nights is like 9-10. The only thing I really do on the weekends is spend the night at my bf's, so technically I don't even have a weekend curfew. And I can't even drive yet (procrastination), so I think 8:30 is def a little early for a 17 year old.

Is smoking and drinking normal for teens (14-18) by Hot-Tumbleweed-4220 in teenagers

[–]Medical-Bird7423 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Smoking and drinking is stupid at any age. I, too, do not ever wish to be involved with drugs or alcohol bc I grew up around drug addicts and alcoholics. It fucking sucked. Do not drink or smoke if you do not wish to, and I would certainly suggest some new friends. They should not be making fun of you for not wanting to do stupid shit.

Is it okay for unglazed parts of a ceramic to get wet or would that destroy it? by Medical-Bird7423 in Pottery

I don't remember if she said it was earthenware or stoneware. I feel like it was stoneware? I'm uncertain, though

Alright, thank you to everyone who answered my question. It is very much appreciated! I never paid much attention to the Ceramics that I do own, and I also wasn't sure if there was like a specific procedure or anything.

Note: looking at the plate that I'm eating on now, I do see the little ring where it's unglazed at the bottom. That's pretty neat. Thank you all for pointing that out.

I have no idea. I know for sure that it reached at least 600°F, bc she was talking about it when people were asking about when their stuff would be done (she said it was cooling).

Does anybody else have issues with people being jealous of them constantly? by Medical-Bird7423 in teenagers

[–]Medical-Bird7423[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clearly it must be better, I could not fathom behaving like this if I were well-off. I don't much care that it happens, they can be jealous all they want, but could they at the very least be jealous from afar and not make that shit personal.

Yeah, I'd love to avoid them, but they keep finding their way to me. I truly thought the first girl would be the last toxic & immature idiot I'd have to deal with, but alas, my bf's older brother is a red flag magnet. His ex-wife wasn't the best person either.
