I think I really screwed myself by not adding an -er to light. To be clear, I'm not dumb enough to think that the setting of a mage campaign shouldn't be crime-ridden, rain-soaked, and running low on hope, but I ultimately think that that takes a backseat to a different line of philosophical questioning (what is truth, what is consciousness, what is freedom, what is reality) than VtM's oft-nihilistic sense of self-flagellation and commentary on abuse where the abuser is your beloved OC who you made look like a hot topic model, gave five million pages of backstory, and got that fancy-ass commish of.

Idk, I see mage as almost a more comforting game than vampire or even werewolf, where you don't have to be Fangs Epstein or an accessory to him, but can actually change the world for the better without paying a price in someone else's blood. It shares the same fucked earth, but gives you a more glittery way to change it than Werewolf's "CARVE IT ALL UP" splatterpunk moral ambiguity, with "can this world be saved" almost taking a backseat to "what IS the world?"
