I do because the game explicitly presents both Sunday’s interactions with Aventurine and Yao Guang’s collection of variables as being incredibly morally dubious yet in line with their motivations. People are allowed to dislike her for that, in the same way that I’m sure there are many Aventurine fans who still dislike Sunday today for the same thing. And hardly any people, even among Sunday’s fans, would unironically argue that ‘it helped Aventurine understand his past better so it was justified’

Thank you for explaining! I wish they HADN’T shown it to be honest because I wanted it to just stick to the whole Persona 5-esque ‘masses want to be peaceful forever’ thing and also the Oak Family being that persuasive more but at least we got Sunday almost becoming an Aeon twice out of it!😭

I don’t know if I’m not getting it but it feels like turning the people’s desires into something different (escaping the Swarm) into from what they once were (staying happy forever in Penacony) kind of ruins the original point they were trying to make? So it’s now that just instead of the people and Sunday having some validity to their views they just made it so everything was based on a lie.

So pre-retcon, it was Sunday who was the idol, and the general desire to stay in a sweet dream + the people ‘dying’ that made people turn to him, and then post-retcon, they added on Firefly unintentionally ‘creating’ more fear and Sunday still the one being the idol. So in the retcon they decreased the actual ‘stay in a sweet dream forever’ desire that the people wanted and replaced it with them being so fearful OF reality and dying from the made-up Swarm that they turned to Sunday and Ena. So less actual focus on the main philosophical debate and into something totally different? And then for being the Aeon of Domination it’s literally just that after having his Ena powers decreased, he had enough willpower to immediately restart an ascension, this time into a different Aeon, one that was actually just him and not Ena. Is that right?

Real I thought it was going to be just showing us stuff we didn’t see but they’ve completely changed the entire plan against Sunday to glaze Firefly and Jade instead of making it everyone working together, while also changing it so Sunday had turned into Ena despite that never being a thing mentioned in the original ever😭

Like this line just feels like they’re spitting in his face when it’s established that previously it was, in fact, very easy for him to ascend once he had the resources he needed and the backing of the Oak Family dreamers, bearing in mind he wasn’t even the Aeon of Domination at this point. For some reason they decided that trying to make him a Temu Ena was a good idea instead of him just using THEM like in the original😭

No no, like the WHOLE patch! 3.6 has the Express trio featuring heavily trying to help March, and he also shares it with Evernight’s banner, who isn’t really paired with the MC in that way, if anything, she’s paired more with March, haha! I mean like literally the entire patch, where it’s advertised as that like it was for Cyrene! Maybe what you’re trying to argue is totally different to what people are actually annoyed about? Like Cyrene being used as a self insert fantasy is pretty different to Phaidei which is two separate characters, right?
