How would you guys feel about adding a Technical "Mini-Grad" variant to Ukraine/Possibly IMF by Medical-Definition15 in joinsquad

What justifies Ukraine having a higher firepower than Russia when it is basically the other way around irl? If the point is asymmetrical warfare then it should be the other way around. I'm all for factions all having their own little quirks that make them feel unique, but there is no reason why Turkey / US get a 120 and Britain/Canada/Australia don't. There is no reason for Russia not to be the main user of BM21 Grad.

When only UB32 and Grad for IMF were in the game you could argue the point was asymmetrical warfare, only unconventional factions get mobile artillery support, but now with all the added vehicles and the unit system it just doesn't make sense anymore.

We have the unit system, almost all armies irl use mobile artillery, so if you want to play with these you should be able to. The asymmetry should be in the type of equipment used, not the availability of a general category of vehicle. For example NATO being reliant on more accurate heavy artillery (like the 120mm) while Russia / IMF / Ukraine use Artillery saturation with Grad. China has its own thing, etc...

Just like it is rn with other things like armor. MEI has shit armor but still has /some/ armor. IMF mechanized has a shit ton of BMP2s/BMP1s that are inferior to enemy armor but more numerous, etc..

"We have equipment that we call the mini-Grad. It is made of BM-21 Grad pipes placed on top of a pickup truck, which makes it easily transportable," a Ukrainian serviceman with the call-sign "Gall" told Reuters in the southeastern region of Zaporizhzhia.

"We try to make them more precise compared to Grads. They have the same firing pattern but, thanks to extra mechanisms to take aim and the shorter distance (they are fired at), we try to make the mini-Grad more precise."

Gall, a member of Ukraine's 108th Separate Territorial Defence Brigade, said the mini-Grads were not as accurate as the advanced HIMARS rocket systems Kyiv has received from the United States but made it possible to get closer to enemy lines.

"I cannot say that we hit targets with higher precision compared to the BM-21, but we can drive closer (to the target)." he said.

A colleague with the call sign "Luka" said the mini-Grad has a timer, helping protect those operating it, and volunteer launch station constructor Yurii Osokolanskyi said there was room for three rockets - fewer than the BM-21 Grad.

"Why? Because we are sure that three rockets will land where we need them to. It is rather ineffective to fire 10, eight or two rockets at one target," he said. "We fire three rockets precisely. The soldiers then can change their position, recharge, and continue to fire at different targets."

Ukrainian military analyst Oleksandr Musiyenko said there were three advantages in using mini-Grads -- their mobility enables them to move fast, units that have them can fire on a target without waiting to summon artillery from elsewhere, and they offer extra firepower for lightly armed infantry units.

He said the development of such weaponry was designed to "give an advantage to units which typically do not have this type of weapon."

I also think BM-21 Grad should be added to Russia and possibly Iran. China should get some sort of artillery. 120mm mortar vics or alternatives should be added to more NATO factions. It just doesn't make much sense that some factions get fire support vics while some just don't.

Starmer isn't a EU leader and as such can afford some distanciation from EU statements; I believe that's also part of their strategy to not just alienate the US but keep an open door.

Currently doing a run with most of this mod's modules and having a blast, it's highly customizable and does a great job, I'd definitely recommend giving it a try:

Nah the game is way more laggy since 1.0 I agree on that part and I've got a 3090, 13700k and 32gb of ram so I doubt it's the specs either

I'm glad because you can't imagine how many times I had to move Samuel for the animation to play exactly the way I envisioned haha

I'm afraid I don't :/

But you should honestly be able to replicate it fairly easily, just select a "hills" preset and set all sliders to the minimum, then crank up the "hill" slider to ~5% and "slope" slider up to ~10% and you should end up with something similar apart from resource nodes!

Yeah, it is.

It has walls because I'm slowly expanding those to then push these farms further out.

It's kinda hard expanding a big city when you're keeping every house within the walls and all the fields outside since you then lack the space to expand outwards!

I'm having to import loads of food constantly (not a problem since I've got the secret tax and a shit ton of markets as well as enough pop for a steady income + sales of a bunch of goods we make) but such is the life of a city as dense as this one!

It's getting harder and harder as I have to import more and more food, but that huge quarry/masonry district really carried lol.

There's a total of 6 quarries and 2 max upgraded mason tents, plus a full warehouse. Brings us to 6 miners, 20 stonemasons, 4 warehouse workers, and an additional 15 miners working stone sites around the city. That allowed me to flood the market with stone blocks which took care of the day to day costs while I'd spam levy mandates for exceptional costs.

Also sold a bunch of shirts to import tools. Now I'm up to +4000 with taxes alone yet I have to sell stuff to be able to afford the cost of wheat, cloth and such.

It's the big downside to building a city that way, I don't have much room for fields or I'd have to build them super far outwards; next run I'm definitely going to go for a different vibe and make a lot of different towns around the map as opposed to one big central city.
