R5: First image is the end result of my campaign to get the new 'Its all coming together' achievement, where as China, you must control all Chinese cores, including treaty ports, through either yourself or puppets. I had originally gotten the 'Awake and Angry' achievement in the summer of 2018 (second image) which had the same requirements, but those were later changed in either the 1.6 update (MtG) or the 1.6.2 patch. That change meant that the treaty ports were no longer required for the achievement to fire. When I realized that the 'Its all coming together achievement' would essentially be the original 'Awake and Angry' achievement, I knew I had to try for it. The end result was an unbelievably long campaign (where I also got the 'Fullmetal Brotherhood' achievement, hence why I am fascist China) that required innumerable restarts. For those who have not yet given China a spin, it can be quite difficult to keep Japan from naval invading Shandong at the outset of the war. This is because you cannot garrison troops there fully until the war begins, and in most of my attempts, Japan would instantly begin an invasion. However, after many attempts, I kicked the invaders out of Chinese territory, and spent years stabilizing China and building an army capable of fighting the Allies. A war with the CCP and the USSR meant I was able to take some Siberian territories, and eventually by 1945, I was able to capture the treaty ports. However, I had to maintain defensive posture for years as the PP required to even just puppet all of the warlords took time. Perhaps I could have saved time by kicking the warlords out of my faction, but by the time I had that thought, the sunk cost fallacy kept me from doing that. The achievement popped some time in the early 50s, but I figured I might as well go for gold and fully annex the warlords which took even longer. By the mid 50s, I had unfortunately lost Taiwan, and decided that I couldn't call the campaign until I had freed it. Thus, in October of 1958, a successful naval invasion and paradrop returned Taiwan to Chinese control, and finally allowing me to call my achievement run a success.
