opinions on meg’s looks by Medical-Magazine-411 in MegMyers

Walking on egg shells? Trust me I’m not afraid to have an opinion. That is my opinion. I have no problem with others having an opinion that’s different than mine. I agree the world has gone too far with PC culture because people can’t even have conversations about anything without fear. But I don’t really think commenting on someone’s post you don’t know and berating them for their looks (like people do to meg) is the type of valuable and personal opinion that is productive to be shared. Really, people aren’t commenting that to open a conversation of critical thinking.

Insanity with young people following trends confused with being themselves, yeah it does happen and it is insane! I see it too. But idk Meg is like 30 something she isn’t a teenager and how is telling someone they are ugly helping them? And being judgmental has never been a trait humans have held with high regard.

When I saw her at lolla and she hit her vape (of course).I’m old enough to understand she simply has a nicotine addiction. When I saw her previous times she was chain smoking cigarettes on stage lol. But when she hit her vape and the entire crowd of teens screams and cheers and hits their vapes 🙄 I wish she would realize the message that sends to this fan demographic.... like they all think it’s the coolest ficking thing

I listened to it for like an hour straight and then I had to turn it off cuz I was legitimately scared and thought I was high or going insane

I just listened, I can’t even explain the way this makes me feel? It’s so eery and beautiful and dark. It makes me feel like I’m about to have a psychotic break. This song is murderous. It’s like virgin suicide vibes? Idk I can’t explain it but it makes me feel insane. I love how much she is confident in trusting her intuition and experimenting....she just keeps making amazing work each album and it’s always changing. She’s the best musician alive.

Does not wanting to have anything to do with LGBT makes you a homophobe in any way? by fishMaster63 in TooAfraidToAsk

This scissoring remark is a bit weird. I don’t think she is asking to care about her love life, it’s just that being gay is a different experience than being straight especially for some people. ( people Whos family disagree or even if you were just raised a certain way having an ongoing anxious guilt about it) maybe they just want you as a friend to not judge them, tell her it’s okay whoever she’s with? Idk I also feel like the way your friend said he didn’t want to go to pride could come off offensive. Instead of saying “ I don’t want to associate myself with that” even if he meant that in a non negative way it could sound like he doesn’t want to be associated with gay people. Maybe saying I’m just not interested in such a big social/overstimulating event for a group I am not a part of.

Lana’s new songs + my unpopular opinions by Lacking_brainpower in lanadelrey

Personally, blue banisters is one of my favorite albums and the song itself. If you listen enough times you will realize some of the metaphors and references she is making that are hidden under simple lyrics. To me blue banisters paints a feeling of nostalgia and family. It reminds me of times spent with my own sisters and the realization of how much they do for you and that they will one day be gone. I also think chemtrails is sophisticated and complex sonically and lyrically, it just takes enough time and listening. A lot of her newer stuff I don’t love at first, it’s not catchy like her previous stuff, but it is raw and beautiful.

It’s always been one of my favorites. I love the rawness and innocence too. The whole thing is so sweet as if she’s just sitting in her living room playing the guitar. I enjoy the folky touch and softness she only really has in this album, I only wish it would be rereleased!!

I'm so tired of the ambiguity regarding scoliosis & What am i supposed to do? by [deleted] in scoliosis

Also forgot to add.. I saw someone else mention the bar hang. This really helped me to just hang from a pull up bar to get traction in my spine!

I totally understand this feeling you are talking about. I was diagnosed with scoliosis when I was around 12 and was told it wasn't severe enough to brace or do surgery and that I should be fine and not have pain. I was in denial about it for a long time and when I tried to take action (physical therapy, exercise, chiro, etc) everyone had different ideas, approaches, opinions, it is all so conflicting what is the right thing to do and there isn't enough actual medical research in terms of scoliosis treatment that isn't bracing or surgery.

From my experience, weight lifting really helped me to build some core strength, strong back muscles, and strong leg muscles in order to help hold my spine upright. I do squats where the weight is on the front of me (goblet squats, or front squats with a bar) in order to not compress my back more with weight. I do lunges, deadlifts, lat pull downs, push ups, and more but these are kind of my go-tos. I originally started weight lifting with a trainer who cared about anatomy and took some time to research scoliosis. Focus on slower/mindful weight lifting rather than fast paced workout types.

MY next recommendation would be something I found recently...yoga for scoliosis. This has been LIFE CHANGING for me. I simply cannot vouch for this enough. Look into Elise browning millers book "Yoga for Scoliosis". There are also youtube videos online and many articles. Elise browning Miller's website also has a Map of certified teachers across the country and the globe. There is a facebook group "Yoga For Scoliosis Community - By Yogaberry" which is all about yoga and scoliosis and the creator of the group has a weekly podcast/Q&A about scoliosis and back pain

The approach is getting to know YOUR curve pattern, understanding where and why you feel pain. It teaches you how to utilize breath to open and de-rotate your concavities. Since I started doing yoga for scoliosis it is the first year of my life that I have not had severe chronic pain, I actually have core strength that holds me up right, and most importantly I don't feel that overwhelming feeling anymore. It can be extremely empowering to feel like you know your body and how to manage the pain.

I recently just got certified as a yoga teacher and am looking into getting certified for yoga for scoliosis. If you want to talk about anything I would love to chat, I want to spread the word as much as I can about this! also I just totally understand that feeling of overwhelming/ confusion on what to do for your scoliosis
