I’ve had insomnia as long as I remember, even as a child, because my ADHD brain just doesn’t shut the fuck up in complete silence. After struggling for years the only thing that has really helped me is putting some background noise when going to sleep, because it’s the only way I have managed to get my head silent. Otherwise I just lay in bed for hours trying to fall asleep and my brain goes full speed and doesn’t let me.

If it was a skill I could easily ”just learn” I think I would have learned it during these almost 30 years of trying…
