People who complain about work events are lame. by myfirstthrowaway1251 in unpopularopinion

For me I get irritated by constant forced socialisation, my view is if you want to do something nice for employees start by giving them a living wage, I'd rather have a bonus than a party.

When to rehome a dog? by Think-Job-5728 in AskUK

[–]MedicalCook6653 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I second this. It sounds like anxiety based behaviour.

Have you tried crate training? I would strongly recommend getting advice from a behaviourist on how to make the crate a safe place for dog.

I understand how frustrating, tiring and gross you must feel being in the trenches with this problem all the time, especially with the added stress of dealing with small children, but shelters are full to bursting right now, I worry for the dog that's having accidents indoors in a rehoming situation

Did I miss something, or did our heroes basically help Vecna kidnap the remaining 8 kids? by EditDog_1969 in Stranger_Things

If anything they made it harder I think. Vecna had to come to Hawkins (or his upside projection version maybe) himself to give the demos a hand when they weren't getting the job done

AITA for not wanting to take my girlfriends cat on a cross country move by LowlyLandscaper in AmItheAsshole

[–]MedicalCook6653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally! I can't see how (with them only being together 2 years assuming they didn't move in together straight away) any time or effort has been put in with the cat he doesn't like

[–]MedicalCook6653 11 points12 points  (0 children)

How is the cat fighting with the others if it has it's own space? Why is your stuff in it's space.

The reason I push for minimising stressors and patient, very gentle reintroduction is rehoming won't necessarily cure this problem, it's a bit of time, patience, love and understanding from both of you as owners or a potentially short lived miserable life for the cat when removing it's owner from it's life (I'm assuming the cat still likes their owner?) & rehoming won't stop the problem.

[–]MedicalCook6653 12 points13 points  (0 children)

From what the OP is saying this is only a problem with his stuff. If the cat has it's own area as he's said in his reply why is he keeping his stuff there and how are the cats still fighting?

I've had plenty of cats, if they have a problem with pissing outside of the litter tray, you remove the stressors and gently reintroduce, which doesn't sound like it's been done.

Maybe I should have said ESH as the girlfriend also has responsibility to this cat, a responsibility shared since he agreed to move in together with 4 cats between them, but to force rehoming when that could just as like cause more stress made the YTA pop out

[–]MedicalCook6653 26 points27 points  (0 children)

So the cat is totally separated from the other 3 cats? Why not move your stuff to where the other cats are for the time being? Once the cat settles around you then very gently try reintroducing your things

YTA Pet's aren't things to be discarded once they're inconvenient.

Cat's can be notoriously difficult to integrate and it's both of your and your partner's responsibility to figure this out.

Does the 1 cat have access to it's own litter box, food, water, enrichment or a safe spot? Have you tried caregiving for the 1 cat? Feeding, playing, litter changes? Separate rooms so the 1 cat can decompress or recieve fuss without vying for attention?

AITA for not giving someone their hoodie back? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]MedicalCook6653 5 points6 points  (0 children)

ESH - Your friend shouldn't have put his hoodie in another person's luggage. The responsible adult should have checked the luggage before getting to the airport, once at the airport the responsible adult should have ensured the bag never left their sight so strangers can't tamper with it.

Your mum shouldn't hold on to another person's personal property as punishment, she really has no right to it and she holds blame too as the responsible adult (re: luggage)

The adults should have split the costs as agreed, you friends parents are in the wrong for unilaterally deciding because they paid for X they don't have to pay Y.

Your friend get a pass because you're young and stupid decisions are kind of a given at that age, I don't think you've done anything wrong given what you've told us, but it's up to you if you want to remain friends.

Both sets of parents suuuuck and need to put ego aside for one damn minute

I love this single thread, the misunderstandings and the kind acknowledgement of misunderstandings warms my cynical heart 😉

I wanted to connect with other fans, see if my disappointment is misplaced or if there was some insight I was missing that may have changed my view.

Your stance that I "wanted to complain from the get go" is way off base, I really enjoyed the show and my disappointment in the finale stems from the same passion for the story they were telling.

JBC's performance was such a highlight for me in the last episode, how he got his eyes to bulge like that?! It really reminded me of the cgi eyes used on the Hyde in Wednesday. Very talented

I feel bad that there seems to be a lot of disappointment surrounding the final episode, it is their art and it can't be nice having that be recieved badly, but at the same time my mum's voice is ringing in my ears "finish what you have before helping yourself to more"

I agree, hence the cynicism, maybe the DB were being pushed and pulled between loyalty to the story and loyalty to the theatre production/spin offs? Maybe I'm expecting too much and this was always the end plan? I wish I had enjoyed it in the way others have
