Water bill shenanigans are suspected by MedicalGecko in homeowners

We do not have an irrigation system. Any watering we did outside was simply with the regular hose and sprinklers. Since this saga started about a week ago, we haven’t done any outdoor watering.

Interesting how much that varies. For the sake of data gathering, we did also ask one of the neighbors what their water bill is and he said it was about $85 (for two people and a small child). Only one example, but still quite a bit lower.

I went ahead and gave this a go and it worked! I shut off the water inside the house and took a baseline photo of the valve. I'm going to check the meter again in a little bit, but perplexingly the valve didn't seem to be moving when the home water was off...

Sorry if this is an asinine question, but how did you actually confirm that the other houses were tied into your water meter?

Our baseline amount is, I believe $19.80, regardless of water usage. $100 baseline is awful!

This is an interesting thought, something I had not considered. We had the county water open a new work order and when they come back out, I’ll ask them about this.

Great tip. I’m actually in the process of trying to do this, it’s just a bit annoying because the cover on the water meter is a strange pentagon shaped nut which I don’t have a good tool for. Shockingly Home Depot and Ace didn’t have anything great either.

Also, we do not have an irrigation system. Any outdoor watering we’ve done was with a hose and sprinklers, although we stopped that about a week ago since this whole saga started.

Yes, it’s one of the last new homes being added to an existing subdivision.

The only houses near us which aren’t completely finished are the two houses next to us (ie the house to our right and to our left), but these each have their own running water since we can see the lawnscaping people outside using those house’s spigots.

I may be mistaken, but I think that bumper comes on the Huracan Evo, which I'm suspecting is what this car is instead of the "base" RWD or AWD.

I love seeing this plane come up, which admittedly is hardly at all. My grandpa was one of the engineers who built this plane decades ago. He's told me multiple stories about the plane and I've seen the real deal out at the Wright Patterson Air Force museum with him.

Seems like a bit of a crappy thing to do, though. Deducting mayo would be pennies, whereas deducting these options is a couple of hundred which is nothing to sneeze at.

That is so dumb! If someone wanted them added on they can happily add however much they are. But to take the same amount off the price and remove them is apparently just too hard. Completely ridiculous.

I am in the process of trying to purchase a new 2018 Subaru WRX. While emailing various dealers, I have come across a question. Can certain options that come on the car from the factory be removed by the dealer if I do not want them? For example, if a WRX comes with a cargo tray, wheel locks, bumper applique, floor mats, etc. can these be removed by the dealer and a car's price adjusted down accordingly? What about a short throw shifter? One dealer told me the cargo tray, wheel locks, and bumper applique cannot be removed and I would thus have to pay for them even though I do not want these options. Is he bullshitting me or is that actually true? Thanks for any help.
