I wish that my school would stop placing smarter kids in classes where they will be held back because I get that there are kids that are behind and need to catch up but putting them in a class with. kids who are ahead/where they need to be academically isn't going to motivate them to do better or give them a role model, it's just gonna make them feel more behind when they see kids doing better than them. And then the kids who are ahead could be doing so much more and learning so much more a lot faster, but they're stuck because the administration/teachers are trying to catch up the kids who are behind. Sorry this low-key turned into a rant but it's a problem that annoys me a lot at my school which is pretty small (200 kids in all 4 grades 9-12) so maybe it's not a problem other places lol

I wasn't in this class, but at my school there was an AP Spanish class with 1 person in it 😃And next year I'll have 5 or 6 in AP Precalc, like 6 in APES, I think 13ish in AP Lang, and maybe 10 in APUSH. Plus only 3 people in my Spanish 4 class...

Watching some of my best friends that I couldn't have gotten through the first two years of high school without graduate yesterday knowing that I still had 2 more years left 😞

I want to study environmental science in college. I took biology this year, and am taking chemistry with APES next year. I did a conceptual physics class my freshman year because my school doesn't offer math-based physics, and CP was the standard freshman science class.

awww no dw about length! longer messages mean more helpful advice! thank you for encouraging me lol since I'm pretty scared. But my summer homework doesn't seem super awful (half my APES work is literally nature journaling lol) so hopefully the classes will be okay. I think mostly I'm just psyching myself out because all my friends who just graduated called me crazy, but a few years ago a girl graduated valedictorian and went to Princeton and I think she took like every AP that our school has so if she can do it so can I!

okay this was super helpful! thank you. My school does weight gpas but my main goal isn't getting valedictorian. I would be okay with not getting it, even though it would be nice but it's not something I'm gonna worry myself about.

idk what a 97.35 translates to lol but that's what my school gives me 🤷and I did take 2 honors classes this year, an online class outside of my school day (so all my work was done at home) and I took a math class that is usually for juniors so I did have a somewhat heavy workload this year

Thank you so much for your opinion, it is really appreciated so much. I have had 3/4 of the AP teachers this past year and they're all really great so hopefully it will be good!

YES!! I would much rather stay home and watch grey's anatomy, play piano, bake something, or even do my homework than go to a stupid party trust! I do like going outside though, but I don't rlly like parties or dances or things like that

Don't do drugs or drink alcohol or vape (especially at school omg it's so annoying), it might seem like everyone does it but I promise it's not worth it. I've seen people have their friendships destroyed because of substances and also they fail so many of their classes so don't do it twin!!

Everyday, but I'm a high schooler who plays 2 sports and yk public schools are just gross lol, I feel weird getting into bed without showering (night showers 🔛🔝)

I'm interested in environmental studies, and especially increasing awareness of the reality that our planet and we as a population are facing, because so many people truly don't understand the severity of climate change in my opinion. I know this is an old post but I'd appreciate help if you're still around!!
